surgery 1/21/10- doing great! how are you?
Hi everyone. I am very new to this site and these forums. I had surgery on Thurday, January 21, 2010. This past Thusday was three weeks and I have lost 21.7 lbs! I am doing really well and have not had any problems so far. I am eating solid foods (which my teeth thank me for) and am trying new things every day. One day at a time though, slow and steady.
Does anyone have some great advice for eating and the coming months? I don't have to go back to my Dr. or nutritionist until April. A bit scary being on your own, but looking forward to it.
Thanks!

So glad you are doing so well ! am four weeks today, and technically,at the start of soft foods. For lunch, I had a veggie burger (from the green box) which was not bad. For dinner, I am making crock pot chicken and dressing (RNY friendly). But, to be honest, I don't even like eating anymore. Nothing tastes like it used to and eating at a snail's pace is a chore.
I love the way food tastes for the most part. Right now, I am trying to balance making food that my family will like and that I can eat as well. (I have a husband and three boys 16, 12 and 8) It has not really been a problem so far, but I am sure that there will always be challanges. Getting my protein in seems to be a problem for me. I need to water dow tha protein chakes with skim milk just because they ar too thick. Another problem (sort of) is that they only make them in chocolate. I love chocolate, don't get me wrong, but variety is the spice of life, right? I get mine at the local Costco. 30 gms of protein in 11 oz. May I ask what you are using if anything?
