Hi, I had surgery on Jan 4th. No nausea, vomitting or anything else. I do have some pain under my incision on my left side that hurts if I sit too long. Other than that I feel great. Good luck, you are in my prayers.

I had my surgery (VBG with sleeve) on January 14th. The hospital staff was amazing! The most pain I experienced was from staying in the same position for so long. I insisted that I be moved or walk about 6 hours after entering my room.  It was so unbearable.  Like everyone else said, walking will help a lot.  I'm still recovering and experience a little stomach pain, but experienced no nausea :-) Good luck with your recovery.

Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes  The RNY went fine.  I was in the hospital for 2 nights and just came home this afternoon.  I was only nauseated a couple of times; other than that, the only issues have been incredible gas rumbling around in my belly and being really swollen.  Hopefully that will go away shortly.  Having a few regrets but I know it's only because I don't feel very good.  I know when this gas goes away and I feel more like myself that I will be very happy about it.  I was so calm and peaceful going into surgery, so I'm looking deep to find that peace again.

Take care,
Barbara

I had RNY Jan. 7th.  I am feeling really good.  I know what you mean about regret though...I had it after surgery too.  It goes away very soon.  I have had no problems other than catching a nasty cold at the hospital.  Otherwise I have lost 35 lbs. already.  In a week or two you will feel almost 100% again and you will be SOOOO happy you did it!  Congratulations and a quick recovery to you!
