Protein Shakes: For Everyone?

Same here - I went to 6 seminars at different hospitals in the tristate area and something they always preached about was the importance of the protein shakes especially after surgery. I don't understand about not wanting you to "drink your calories" because the calorie content is limited anyway. And all the hospitals I've visited were Centers of Excellence. My insurance wouldn't have covered my surgery otherwise.

I think I'm glad I'm on the protein shakes, too, because I think it would be harder for me not knowing a specific place my protein was coming from. it's much easier measuring out the shakes and knowing I'm getting the exact amount of protein I need per day. I don't want to lose my hair!!! lol

for our pre-op liquid only diet, we were asked to use world wid pure protein from Trader Joe's or Fresh and Easy.
After surgery for the first mont, we are supposed to use isopure whey protein or isopure drinks.   They have this brand at GNC.
