Topic: I'm BAAACK...
Hello all!

My surgery is over and I was discharged on Sat afternoon.  I had heart rate complications and had to stay an extra day but that's it - no other complications!  My heart rate is normal now and I'm eating a bowl of sugar-free jel-lo banana chocolate pudding with a scoop of unjury for breakfast.  It's surprisingly good!

I have nevver fully appreciated taking a shower until this experience!  However my incision is itching and I'm going to assume that means it's healing - I'm not touching it.  Hopefully I'll have my post-op appointment this Thurs but the girl who does the scheduling isn't in the office until tomorrow. :(

I hope all of you who have had your surgery recently is doing just as well and for those whose surgery is coming up...don't worry about it.  Just remember that everyone is different on how they physically handle it and you won't know until the surgery is over - just stay STRONG!

Topic: RE: not losing on liquid diet....HELP!
I too am on the liquid diet and, the only way that I have been able to see the difference is that I measured my self ( waist, thigh , etc ) B/c I knew I would discourage myself by getting on the scale. I use fitday.com to track my food in-take and my progress. It is really helpful and has kept me motivated so far. Just remember everyone is different. So people retain much more fluid than others, so they have fluid to lose to . Your progress is the only one you can control. My husband tells me everyday how amazed he is with my willpower on the liquid diet. But it really does suck!

Hi Angelgirl!

I like your avatar name – I watch Touch by an Angel on cable and Tes calls Monica – Angel Girl!

It is great to hear that you are home.  Now, all you have to look forward is to a new renewed life!  I am having my surgery Wednesday – 12:30PM eastern time and will be at the “loser’s bench" just like you – (with God’s help!)  Please keep me in your prayer that day – I could use the prayers.

I will continue to keep you in my prayers – let me know how you are progressing.

Take Care My Friend – Stay in touch!

God’s angels will always be with you,

Liz

Liz-

I came home from the hospital on Thurs.  I had to stay a little longer because they end up taken my gallblatter and repair a hyenia hernia (sorry if spelled wrong) and tuesday and wednesday I couldn't keep anything down so they kept me in for the Iv's.  Came home Thursday and had to sleep in my recliner,  My dh has been great through the whole process he even stayed in the hospital with me wednesday nite.  Today is Sunday all I am taking for pain is tylenol when my
insides start to hurt at the stomach I put a heating pad on my back which helps me alot.  I will keep you in my thought and prayers, good luck with your surgery and just rember each day gets better.  I even went for a ride with my dh to the gas station and just getting out that little bit helped.

Rita,

Best of luck on your surgery.  I am sure it will be uneventful and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.  I will be happy to save a nice warm spot on the losers bench too.

Hugs,
Barb

Topic: RE: Is this normal?
Your emotions are just as normal as can be expected. I was fine till I looked at the doctor and told him I wanted to see my 9 yr old daughter again then the water works started, he asked my mom if I was depressed she told him no I was just scarred, she was right!!! the first few days are the hardest then you will notice that with each sleep you have you will wake feeling better. best wishes for you tomorow! You will be just fine.
