Topic: just started soft foods yesterday.
I just started soft foods yesterday. it's hard to get half a cup down. So far I've had one scrambled egg for breakfast both days. I could only eat half. For lunch I had 1/4 cup of ricotta yesterday and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and a thin slice of baked ham today. Supper yesterday was a cup of tomato soup w/skim milk and today I had a 1/2 cup of lean burger with Ragu sauce in it. I couldn't finish the saltine cracker.
The reason I wrote all of that was because I am wondering how you all are eating? How much are you able to eat.
I think I am doing okay.
I just don't get how all this weight is going to come off! I know that sounds weird, but since I feel satisfied, I worry I ate too much. What say you?
P.S. GO STEELERS!!!!!!

Today was six days post-op for me. I had my first visit and got my JP drain out and got moved to full liquids from clear and have lost eleven pounds! I am sooo happy!
I am in almost no pain and am able to walk a good bit. I am feeling back to normal now and am ready to really get going with my new lifestyle!

that pain medication can throw you for a loop...I was obsessed with pressing it everytime I opened my eyes...people would come to see me and all i could do is open my eyes and go back to sleep.

Dear aroundtuit,
I am happy to chat with you! Maybe we can get through this thing together! I can't advise you at all about the diet, but I can give you sympathy! Minnesota AND most cold liquids to eat sounds like a challenge, but the payoff will be TERRIFIC! We just have to keep our eyes on our goals. My surgeon doesn't put people on on the liquid diets pre-op. I have been surprised to find that this week, my final week of eating "normal" food, I have no desire to pig out on stuff that is bad for me. Perhaps that is my mind and body preparing themselves for the changes that will occur with surgery. I am actually feeling thankful and looking forward to being free of the constant quest for food!
Try to get warm and let's stay in touch!
