But the salmon is awesome!!!

There were about two days where i felt hunger but since then nothing really except early in the morning. i am trying to get three 1 1/2 oz meals in a day, but don't always.
We have found that for me, the best three things to eat are tuna and mayo in the blender, broiled chicken and chicken broth in the blender, and baked salmon that my husband takes the skin off and does in the blender with cream cheese.
My surgeon's plan calls for mostly prootien as the diet forever, so these three really fit. My two week checkup is Wednesday so not sure if he will move me to soft foods or what. But i find i cannot eat the full ounce and a half.
it is a weird feeling to eat so little and get so full, but i love it. I try to get my liquids in, but so far my best day was 38 oz. i feel like i am drinking 24/7!
I am making sure to do at least one protien shake as well.
One thing that REALLY helps me get towards my liquid goal and tastes great are SF popsicles. i am going through about six a day and they are an ounce and a half, so they push me towards that fluid goal.
Today is my first day back at work, so i am trying to sip all day and hopefully I can get to 48 and then 64 oz a day soon.
i have also made a goal to walk 15 minutes a day and gradually work back up to my three miles three times a week. I am sure it will take a LONG time to get there though! I am pretty sore and moving slowly.
Good luck to all the January folks!

Thank you Barb for the encouragement. My husband understands to. He's been helping me with some cleaning just so I can come home to a "nice place to fall". I'll read your blog, and these are the things I love to hear and also the before and after pics to keep me excited.
Thanks
Deborah
Your feelings are very normal, in fact I was a little cranky to my husband the night before. He is such a gem though as he understood that I was just running wild with emotions although very excited too.
I had my surgery on Jan 8th and I feel wonderful. In the hospital, I barely used the pain pump because it zonked me out so much. I used the oral pain med mostly at night to sleep well or if my tummy was sore after getting up and out of bed so much. I walked way more than they told me to but I also got rid of the gas quicker that way and felt so much better for doing it. I would waltz by the nurses station late at night and they would tell me, "wow, are you motivated or what!" I did quite a bit of journaling on my blog page so feel free to read it.
You're going to do great. You have a great team of surgeons and nurses to see you through it and follow their recommendations to the letter. Sending warm thoughts and prayers your way for an uneventful surgery and speedy recover too.
Hugs,
Barb

All I think about is the surgery. I go to bed thinking about it and wake up thinking about it. I've been looking forward to this since September, 2008. I know that my life is about to change forever. I try to imagine how I'm going to feel right after the surgery. Will I be in pain, will I be glad it's over? (yes) I'm praying for no complications and that I'm headed down the right road. My parents told me over the weekend they are concerned about me, however thay do understand why I'm doing this. I'm quite hard to live with right now, my emotions are running wild. Well, just needed to vent. Tell me how you all feel, and if you've had the surgery let me know how you felt after the surgery.
Thanks
Deborah
