Topic: RE: What are you Jan 12'ers eating post op?
I had my first pureed meal tonight, 2 weeks post surgery.  I had 1 oz cottage cheese (pureed) and 1 oz ham & ham gravy baby food.  I added some onion and garlic powder to the baby food cause I heard it's really bland.  The baby food was ok.  I can live with eating it sometimes. I had also been adding spices to broth to add to the taste.  I am going to try to chopped meat with sauce tomorrow.  I'm also going to make some sf/ff pudding and add protein powder.  It's great to be adding different things back into my diet.  I'm learning to enjoy the flavors and really savoring it, instead of shovelling like I did in the past.

Topic: I made it!!!

My surgery went off without a hitch today and I am feeling pretty good.  I got up to go walking about an hour ago and finally got some ice water to swab my mouth with..HEAVENLY!  The dry mouth was probably the worst part so far lol....

I'll post more later but just wanted to tell everyone that I am okay!

Jaime,

I would call your doctor to see what they have to say.  They may have you put something like benedryl cream on them but call just to be sure.

Is this normal?   They have a ring around each of prong about 1/2 cm wide.  I have allergies to certain earrings, could the same thing be happening with the staples?  I am one week out and have not put anything on my stomach.  I can't imagine they are infected.  Any thoughts?

Congrats on successful surgery.  I walked my tooshie off and it really did get rid of the gas by about my third day home.  The more I walked and the more I drank, the better it got.

GOOD LUCK!!
