Nicky,

Hang in there, everyday will get better and better.  Try your best to walk as much as you can and by all means make sure you get your water in.  This will help getting the plumbing going and keep you from getting constipated.  Remember that pain meds can cause constipations, so make sure you have something tee'd up just in case.  The water will help though.

Warm hugs coming your way and that tomorrow is a better day for you.

Topic: RE: Feeling like a failure

People who undergo surgery have a huge wave of emotions that take over after.  Each person is different but for some it can take a month or two to get everything back to "normal."  The important thing at this time is to follow the eating plan your surgeon wants you to do.  Also, please make sure you drink your water, this will help you feel full.

Tell your Dad you've been through enough and that you need his support not his negativity.  You must take the bull by the horns and do this FOR YOU.

You were the one who made this decision, we're here to support you but you have to take charge now.

Hugs,
Barb

Are you getting in your exercise?  You have to make your body need to use up stored energy, otherweise, it just puts you into hibernation and nothing comes off.  Also, make sure you get in your water.  This seems to make a difference for some people.

Topic: RE: 2 weeks post op, any one else?
Most of the soft food that I am eating is yogart, cottage cheese, refried beans and mash potatoes. I am drinking a protein shake that I make with this little blender that I purchased called a bullet. It is wonderful, I would recommend it to everyone. It is fast and easy and not much to clean up. I am looking for a local support group. My doctor has one but the drive is quite a ways away. I plan to attend a few times because it is only once a month so I can handle that for a while. How is your water intake and by the way what is they type of surgery you had?
