Topic: One Year
Yesterday marked my one year from surgery. I have lost 172 lbs so far from start to now I still have about 60 to go. I love being able to go into a store and buy off the rack and it fits me. I have always had to go to the big girl store and wear whatever was there, so needless to say I have no fashion due to having to wear whatever was there and comfy. I can now wear jeans and get up and do things that I was not able to do before. I am a leader for my son's cub scouts and I am able to do all the activities with him now it is really neat. I have been really enjoying the change in my life and I will continue to do more.

Topic: RE: pureed food stage
You might want to post this on the main board rather than the January 2009 board.. I think you might have meant to post on the January 2010 board?

try cottage cheese, yogurt, pretty much anything thick that you can get through a soda straw. come up with your own recipes, too that's always fun.  vegetables, or anything water based are good to puree with meats because it will help keep it moist. For me, food that was dry always gets stuck, even over a year out of my surgery, dry foods get stuck and I either have to make myself puke, or just wait it out with dumping syndrome or some severe pain in my chest and back, because the food is trying to ge tthrough my pouch.

If you have chocolate protien, puree that up with the oatmeal, it's really good. It's like a little dessert and you get the extra protein.

Good luck on your weight loss!

11 months out and 127 lbs lost.

Things for which I'm grateful:

Health, family, friends (even when they make back-handed compliments), pets, job, nature...

There's a lot to be grateful for, not the least of which is my improved health - both mental and physical.  My life is very different post-surgery and I have no regrets.

I actually was given the gift of Christmas spirit this year!  I haven't had that in a long time.

I wish everyone health, happiness and positive support in the new year and in their weight loss journeys.  Don't hesitate to contact me.
