You only have 9 more days till you get your first fill adjustment. Are you eating regular foods now? Even if your still in the puree stage or your just grinding up your meats real good make sure your getting all your proteins in. The protein packed foods will make you feel full longer. I found that for me, following more of a diet on the lines of the Atkins seems to keep me feeling fuller. Even with having RNY, if I eat things like yogurt and protein shakes, they don't seem to keep me feeling full very long. I try to eat more meats (chicken, beef, fish etc. ) which make me feel full much longer.
What about exercise? Have you been doing any type of exercise regiment? Even if it is just walking it helps to get the body going. I try to do at least 40 minutes to one hour on the treadmill every day. Since I live in PA and the weather sucks, it's hard to get outside and do much, but once the weather warms up, I know it will get better. I really enjoy workign outside around the house. Another great form of exercise is swimming. I can't wait until the weather breaks and I can get the pool opened up. Is there any gyms or YMCA's near you with a pool? Swimming is a great low impact form of exercise. It really helped me this past summer to lose some weight.
Have you done any measurements? If not, you should. You may not be losing a lot of weight but you may have lost inches. Sometimes I think people get so obsessed with the weight end of it they don't realize that they are losing inches.
It sounds like your body chemistry is soooooo much like mine. I've hit plateaus over the past 3 weeks and it irritates me but on the other hand I can tell that I lost a little inch wise. I try not to get too obsessed with only the weight loss end of it, although I know it's hard not to.
Only 9 more days to go and I think you will see a difference once you have your first fill.
HANG IN THERE !!

I was completely back to normal after day 5. I felt like I had never even had surgery (that is what I always say too).
I had LAP RYN on the 28th. I have lost 16 pounds since the day of my surgery.
All I eat is basically lactose-free cottage cheese.
LAP RNY (1/28/09)
I don't post on this forum much but thought I'd check in and see how the 1/28 peeps are doing.
I had lapband on 1/28 and had an amazing QUICK recovery and went back to work 2/5. Had my post op appt on 2/6 and my doctor was very amazed at my progress. I feel like I never had the surgery!
I'm down 12 lbs since the surgery, overall 27 lbs!! WHOO WHOO!!!
I'm just so sick of pureed/soft food that I wanna barf!! Must be a texture thing!
Having fun with my new lifestyle!!
I had surgery on 1/20. I don't have a scale at my house, but at my post op appointment on 1/29 I had lost 12 pounds since my surgery. 83 pounds total - but I had a six month pre op diet! Everyone is telling me they can see that I have lost more weight though. I go to the doctor's again on 2/26 and will find out then how I'm doing.
I've started my water aerobics again it's really helped me feel a lot better.
I am also loosing inches which is almost better then pounds especially now... I was told by my friend who had the surgery almost 4 years ago too keep a large pair of pants so that you can do the whole look where I came from picture... Also take your measurements, when I looked back at my pre-op measurements last night I felt much better about things. Plus it doesn't help that I am bloated.
Have a great day!!

I am very active though...I walk and ride my exercise bike. I am only getting in about 300 calories per day.
LAP RNY (1/28/09)
I have lost about 41 lbs including my pre-op. I slowed down 2 weeks ago, and then this week lost 5 lbs. I figure my body is just redistributing and getting used to the 500 calories per day. I try to keep the protein up but that adds calories too and since my program is calorie based for the first 3 months, it makes it challenging. I'm not complaining as I am losing inches and my clothes are loser.
Congrats to all and I hope we all keep in touch.
Hugs,
Barb
