Two things I would say....don't weigh yourself very often and are you exercising? You have to get out and and least do some walking ( I'm just assuming you aren't because you didn't mention it )
Don't get down on yourself and start doubting...get out and walk....make sure you are drinking a lot of water and get in  your protein...You CAN do it....

If your going to pee with the puppies you can't run with the big dogs....

I use Unjury...at first it was just the Choc. I kind of got sick of it but it does taste good and 28gms of protein with 8oz of milk. I've been using the unflavored now and I LOVE using it. I put it in everything.....

With protein it is all relative to what you taste is. I hated EAS, Boost , Glucerna and Atkins....but those were all shakes not powder. Best of luck with your choice....

I was off for three weeks but I probably could have went back after two. Everything went great and very, very little pain or discomfort.

Definitely! Food has become an enemy to me. I eat so little now it's scary but when I do eat it makes me nauseous and gassy. Burping gas mainly because the other kind hasn't been a problem since before surgery. I also seem to have a lot of bile. When I eat, sometimes it comes up like to food I just ate dropped in and pushed it up. It's not pretty. Doc says just eat whatever I can to get the calories in because I can't do the "conventional methods" that seem to work for everyone else. This all is a bit scary to me now so I'm just hanging in there. Going for blood work tomorrow to check my levels and see where I am with that. Hopefully things aren't too bad!

Hey there I had my LAP RNY on 1-27-09 and am actually starting to like it!! LOL I was in  alot of pain for the first few weeks so it really sucked..(all on the left side of course). I have not had the pleasure of experience DUMPING yet...thank God lol. I am on a regular diet at this point and sadly have found nothing to give me trouble...LOL . Everything goes down great....I just can barley eat anything, I am pretty sure I am not getting enough protein in at this point...I am never hungry enough to eat that much still. I do try to mainly eat chicken and tuna...oohh and I love my yougurts!  So yeah I was just checkin in and wish everyone the best of luck!!!

My pain is NO WHERE NEAR as bad as it was!! I think the muscles are healing quite nicely at this point! The left side can hurt up to 6 months after surgery my surgern told me. I thought the horrible pain was gas...and he assured me it is probably just the muscle healing...he was right about a week later the pain had subsided. But I am also not working out or pushing anything. I mean I have a 2yr old that keeps me running my ass off all day but I haven't hit the gym or my treadmill since surgery. I had my RNY on 1-27-09. Just take it easy is all I can say n let it heal a lil more maybe. I hope ya feel better soon!! xo

I would say 2 weeks is pretty typical.

I am trying to get my protein through foods.  I am allowed to eat 6- 2oz "meals" a day (pureed).  I eat mainly tuna fish, cottage cheese, chili, canned white meat chicken (done like the tuna).  I have 1 bottle of isopure, but it is just to spendy for us.  I also will add protein powder to sugar free ice cream or sugar free pudding.

Hi all, I am a January 28th LAP RNYer myself.  I had a rough recovery but am much better now.  I returned to work last Monday (the 16th).  I am down 18 pounds since surgery and a total of 79 pounds altogether (pre-diet for insurance).
