I had surgery on Jan. 5th. After I lost 26lbs. I stalled for two weeks straight. It was very frustrating. However, your body needs to adjust to what is happening to it. It also needs to know it's not in jeopardy. Every time you lose 10% of your body weight, you may have a stall. But the good news is: you'll still lose inches. So measure yourself. Also, I boosted my protein intake and that really helped kick my weight loss back into gear. Do not be discouraged. Keep doin' what you're doin'.

Oh, and add excercise if you haven't already.

I went back two weeks after surgery. I waited until I was finished with the liquid diet.

I have been stuck too over the last week. I have lost about 35. I even gained a pound and lost it last week.

It's different for everyone, I suppose, but take at least two weeks.
If you have the luxury of the third week, take that one too. I was feeling a little run down in the middle of the day at two weeks out. The nice thing about being at home is you can take a nap in the middle of the day. At the office, people frown on napping under your desk.

I had lap RNY on Jan. 19th and am a dispatcher, (sit at a desk) I went back to work 2 weeks later. I had an infection in one of my incision a week after surgery and I think i should have waited maybe another week, but have bills to pay....Doing fine now and just trying to get in protein and water, i work nights so my schedule for eating and sleeping is off, haven't got it all figured out yet, but, I'm losing and looking forward to losing more when i can start working out. good luck to you

I had open RNY and I was in the hospital for 2 days and went back to work for like 5 hrs the day after I got out. But I was off days after that just to rest up a little and went back to my normal routine there after and haven't had any problems since. Oh yeah and I had a drain so that was an added bonus not! But I was fine I just made sure to get up and walk as much as I could cause sitting down too much wasn't always good. It just depends on your tolerance for anything.

Hey....we have the same surgery date.
I would say a couple of things....one I would be shocked if you are not allowed to walk. Walking is great exercise. I know people who had open RNY and were walking in the hospital the same day. Walk, walk , walk. Another thing is weighing yourself often. I've only weighed myself ( at the Dr's office) once and that was on the 27th of Jan.
As others have mentioned you have to drink your water and get in ALL of your protein. You are not going to get another shot at this. Make sure you do all that you need to do to get the most out of this. Please don't take this as giving you a hard time....Just want to see you do well...
