Welcome and congrats on getting your date. I know how you are feeling. I think we are all nervous but excited at the same time. I will pray for you that everything goes well and you have a speedy recovery. You might want to go on the RNY board and ask them what to expect and how they got through everything since most of them have already been through this whole thing.

I have a surgery date!! January 14, 2009 with Dr. Dennis Smith in Marietta GA. Thanks to everyone who shares their stories and answers innumerable questions of us pre-ops. Hopeing to "pay back" when I can. Thanks for support.

Hi all! Congrats on everyones up coming surgery! I dont know but all of you... but i am VERY nervous!!! I have never had any kind of surgery before so i dont know what to expect. I also have to get an IVC filter placed on friday before my RNY on monday.. Any kind words would be helpful lol..

Topic: January 5th: Year of Jubilee! begins
My surgery is scheduled for January 5th. I am sure this is the right thing to do. I am a little nervous. I saw my surgeon on Friday, Dec. 19th. I feel very confident that God led me to him.
I'm doing this for my two sons ages three and five, and for my health. I know losing this weight will decrease if not cause my Pseudo Tumor Cerebri to disappear completely.
Here's to taking hold of all of God's promises for my life and my family.
I will pray for all of you having surgery this month.

Congratulations on getting a date. I'm scheduled for the day before you. Do you have to do the two week pre-op liquid diet? The days seem to move faster the closer it gets.

okay....i started my "liquid" diet yesterday........replacing two meals with protein drinks and one low carb meal per my dr. I do really well in the morning, in the afternoon but at night it seems OMG all the chocolate covered stuff people gave me (oreos, popcorn, graham crackers) just call my name. in the middle of the night i wake up to let the dogs out and i find myself eating chocolate......i never have been a real big chocolate eater but its like im doing it in my sleep!!!!!! This so much harder than i thought! My surgery is jan 7th so i feel your pain!!!!!!!
