Hi Emily,
I know it sounds like it sucks and it's hard, but the food diary really does help - a lot!! I've been on a 1200 calorie, partial liquid diet for the last 7 months (I had to do 6 months for my insurance). In 5 days I will have to start an 800 calorie full liquid diet (which I think scares me more then the surgery) to get ready for my Jan 20th surgery date.
You can do this, and the time will fly by!! :)
Try www.bariatricchoice.com - they have a wonderful Ameretto Hot Chocolate protien drink (15 grams of protien, 80 calories) and a bunch of other drinks as well. I'm just starting to try a few of them for post op. I wish I would have found them sooner to help me through these last several months!!
*hugs* Good luck to you!!! :)

Old timer.. ha ha!
I am doing ok. I will be much better once I have my postop with my surgeon. He is only in town a few times a month so I have to wait until Saturday. It will be SO nice to get these blasted staples out and finally head back home. I am have been staying with Mom since Dec 15. Will be good to be back in my own bed and head back to work.
I will be happy to support any of you I can.. just let me know.
Happy New Year!!

Topic: January 6th, NY
This is my first post, I have just found this website, and wanted to join.
I was actually doing a search in trying to find the 600 mg chewable calcium citrate, and it led me to a topic here.
My Surgery date was December 15th, it was an up and down year this year with all the hoops I had to jump through, but the my Doctor, Dr.Texeira, cancelled. It was finally set on the 6th, and I am really excited.
I find the 500mg citrate chewable but never the 600mg, if anyone in NY knows a store let me know ^_^.
Thanks.
Nice to meet you all

Topic: A bit down about my nut visit
My nut visit went pretty well today although I am a little disappointed. I have to follow a 1200 calorie diet that she gave me and I have to do it for 30 days before they will schedule my surgery. I don't have to lose a certain amount of weight I just have to show a loss so they know I tried and I have to do a food journal everyday and hand it in. I also have to record my vitamin and protein shake intake as well as exercise. I am excited to get it done, but a little down as well because I thought sure I would have a Jan date. I am going to go ahead and stay on this board. I just love everyone here. I don't want to have to tell my story all over again on the Feb 09 board.

I feel guilty posting that I don't have to do a pre-op diet. In a way, I wish that my surgeon required it. Just think, you guys are already losing weight and are ahead of the game! I could have put myself on a liquid diet for a week, of course... I had good intentions, but I didn't. I've been drinking 3 protein shakes a day and eating 1 low carb meal and fruit each day. At least it's something.
Good Luck to everyone, and Happy New Year!
