Welcome to the January board. You have come to a great forum. Congrats on getting your date. I got chewable calcium citate 600mg from www.celebratevitamins.com They come in hot cocoa and strawberry creme in a 30, 60 or 90 day supply. They are very reasonably priced and they taste pretty good. They are a *****alky, but hey they are vitamins.

Welcome Angie,
My surgery is on the 6th, but we're all in this together this month. We'll pray for and support each other. We have to all make the Jan losers the best bunch of the year- it's OUR year!

Hi Shawna,
I'm not in Florida, but I sure wish that I was right now. We got 8 inches of snow last night, and it's 18 degrees outside right now. Anyways, Congrats on your upcoming surgery, and Good Luck. I'm having mine on the 6th, and I can't wait.

Emily,
Cheer up, you're still one of the Jan. losers! You'll just have a head start with your weight loss. I know the journals are a pain, but they really do help you to realize where the empty/useless calories come in. I've been doing it pre-op to get into the habit, although what I'm eating now I would never show to a nutritionist! I've had a few too many "last suppers"!!!  Good luck, and keep the end result in sight. This is the last hoop that you'll have to jump through.

Welcome! I'm also on Jan. 6th. I also have the chewable calcium citrate 500mg. The recommended dose is 2,000mg (at least that's what my NUT wants), so I'll just take 4 a day. I got my vitamins from Celebrate (online). They're pretty decent tasing- or at least tolerable. I'm sure that I'll be able to get used to them (especially since there is no choice in it).
GOOD LUCK!

JJ,
As much as I LOVE my family,  2 1/2 weeks is a really LONG time to be staying with your mom! I plan on staying with mine for several days- I'm sure I'll be more than ready to get home by then. I'm glad you're getting your staples out and heading home this weekend. I'm sure it will feel great to get some normalcy back in your life. I assume that you're not having any major problems eating or anything?

Bri,
Don't beat yourself up about this.  This is the worst time of year to try to stick to a diet- even for skinny people! Just follow the instructions of your surgeon the best you can, and you'll be OK.
Good Luck. This will all be worth it.

I appreciate the pep talk. I just really wanted a Jan surgery date. I know it will go fast if I don't dwell on it.
