Topic: RE: January 6th - Tuesday!!!
The burger is no big deal unless you try it AFTER surgery! I have been pretty comfortable planning surgery since last MAY so I can't wait. My only indecisiveness is about the possibilities for complications since I am self-pay. So perhaps waiting firmed up my resolve! Lap Band on Tuesday Jan 6!

Hi there - I am having Lap Band on Tuesday Jan 6th. I have been on the shakes preop but cheated every day a little, so I have lost 3 lbs in a week, which is better than I usually do anyways. The way I look at it, as long as the scale is going DOWN, perhaps the cheating (in small amts) keeps me on track. But I won't cheat during post-op - too afraid of something going wrong!

Best wishes to all of you having surgery this week. Mine is also Tuesday - Lap Band. I'm just trying to keep busy and distracted to avoid being jittery with anticipation.

What a really wonderful post - thank you!! I'm gearing up for tomorrow morning (need to be at the hospital at 5:45am for a 7:30 surgery time - good thing, 'cause I probably won't be sleeping much tonight anyway!!). Wishing the rest of you January folks all the best - here's to a wonderful 2009!!

Topic: RE: Who thinks the Liquid Diet STINKS???
Yep - it's not great, but on the other hand I started to see some weight going DOWN instead of the usual UP - so that's worth something! I am self-pay and need to be careful to follow the rules, not that I shouldn't follow them anyways. My surgery is Tuesday, and I thought it was a long time coming. Yours will be here very soon!

Kim,
We're all in this with you. Keep your eye on the prize! Take it 4 hours or an hour at a time. SF jello and stained soups (progresso light) are really working for me because they give extra flavor and something chewy. Another thing, maybe freeze your shake and see if it satisfies you when it's icy and cold.
You can do it, you're not alone.
