My surgery is the 6th and i have wondered if i am doing the right thing ...exspecially after this liquid diet. My favorite food is chicken and my family had that last night and then they had pizza last night....UGH....I haven't cheated like a lot of people but sometimes I wish i had. A Bacon cheeseburger sounds soooo good right now. 1 more day though! I'm having my sirgery done at Hamot Hospital in Erie,PA.

Girl I know its hard I started 7 days ago and my surgery is the 6th....taking food away from someone that LOVESSSSS food is horrible. Thankfully my family has been behind me and have made me stay away from the kitchen. It's hard to cook for someone else and not have any yourself! That is self control! We wil get through it though...its only going to make whats coming easier! I'm on SF carnation instant breakfast, i drink the chocolate drinks and they are not too bad. I have low energy and have very bad gas sometimes...lol Can't wait for this to be over!

Its been a long road waiting(since May 2008) now I have 1 more day and i am scared. I'm sure its natural, but after going through this carnation instant breakfast for 7 days I am wondering what i am really doing.

Liquids are very hard. I started on Dec 23rd. My surgery is Jan 5th. I have been dreaming about food for the past 3 nights. I just want to be able to chew something. The majority of the things that I am drinking are all sweet. I just want something salty. I am so close to surgery that I can mess up.
I made lasagna, salad and bread sticks tonight. That was rough. I made it through and I was proud of myself for that. I guess I do have self control---who would have known.
Every one keep your heads up. Just take it one meal at a time. Looke to the prize at the end. We all want to be as healthy as we can right? If it takes doing a liquid diet to regain some quality of life, this is all worth it.
I know this is hard but as they say..........no pain no gain.

Topic: My date is January 26th
Hi My name is Lori and my surgery date is January 26th 2009. I am really excited but a little confused. Am I suppose to get the vitamins and supplements from my doctor at first then go from there or should I be purchasing them now? I also found out that my insurance is not going to cover any nut appts. I'm really confused about that because when I started the process I was told if I was approved all of the doctors appointments would be covered. How often do you see the nut post op?

My name is Lori Congrats on your date. I am scheduled the same day as you and I am so excited too. I can't believe it is already the 4th of January. I see my doct on the 14th I guess that is when I will start my liquid diet. The bad thing about that is I have all the hospital tests the 15th and I am sure I will feel like I am low on fuel that day. Well I hope to talk to you again. Best Wishes
