I know... it is awful... no sugar coatin it!! Ahh, sugar.... Anyway... good luck, I just finished my first week. I know I won't be getting nearly this much AFTER surgery, but at least I know it won't be this bad!!

Good luck to you both. Being scared is natural from everything I have heard. Keep focused on the healthier life that awaits you and being called a "Loser!" I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers and see you on the loser bench when I have my surgery on Thursday. Please keep in touch.

O wow... allergic to the shake? That had to suck!! I had bouts of diarrhea myself...I figured it was some sort of initiation... like a colon cleansing or something!!
I tried banana flavoring... it was ok... but let me tell you this... put some coconut extract, rum extract and banana extract and have yourself a pina colada!! mmmm!!

P.S. You might try posting on the OH forum with the type of insurance you have as someone might have had the same experience or Doc and could answer your questions. Just a thought.

Lots of luck with it... I won't say that it gets easier, but it doesn't get harder. Just try to keep something in your mouth all the time. Popsicles seem to do it for me. Still... it's tough. Stay on the boards and get support for OH friends!!

Congrats on your surgery date. You should contact your Dr's office tomorrow and ask them about what vitamins and type of diet he/she wants you to follow post op. All surgeons are different and of course have different opinions on vities and diet. With regard to your nut appt, 1st contact your insurance company and find out if it is a covered benefit. Most insurances will cover as pre-op condition. Post op, I believe, you shouldn't need an appt unless your blood work is out of wack. You could probably have your questions answered over the phone. The best thing to so is call your Doc for the best info.

I know the reasons that the doctor told us for the liquids... but I still don't understand it and I sure as heck don't like 'em!!!!
I've cheated a teeny bit too... how can you not?? I mean, if I had this kind of willpower, I wouldn't be where I am right now!!
