Hi January surgi friends,

I haven't posted on this forum for a while, but thought I'd take a look and lo and behold there were folks posting!  Happy 3 months and from what everyone's posts say, you're all doing great.

Just wanted to say hi and say life is grand and that I love my RNY.  No food intolerances to date.  I don't do sugar or steak but everything else is pretty great.  I love my Unjury protein and getting plenty of protein in.  I am still challenged with my water intake, but I have added ice tea with the blessing of my nutritionist and my coffee in the morning , she says that counts as fluid!  Works for me.

Hope everyone is great, and I will be checking in from time to time.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. You are truly inspiring me not to throw in the towel just yet! Hey your birthday is a day before my son's 5th bday. Have a great 30th Birthday! I remember when I turned 30. I'll be 32 this year! But atleast now I'll be a healthy 32! Let me know once you reach your goal. GOODLUCK!

Your doing just fine, you started out a lot lighter then I did! And you are still smaller then me so you have nothing to be jealous about! I would trade places with you any day!

I AM SO JEALOUS OF ALL OF YOU!! No, I am happy fo r you guys on your successful weight loss. I am almost 3 months and have only lost 27 pounds! Its a bit frustrating especially when I see achievements as yours. But I know we are all different and lose differently. Congratulations! You guys are going to hit your goals quick. Good luck and keep on shedding those pounds.

So are you! You might want to call your nutritionist about those protein shots, mine told me something about there not being amino acids or something in it so you actually don't process the protein. I don't remember exactly so I would just call them up and ask.

I sooo need my labs done but I don't have insurance right now. :(  Hopefully soon!

Wow I am so jealous of how well your doing!

WOO HOO YOU ROCK!!

I had my 3 month follow up on Friday and was very happy that all my labs came back good.  Mostly my glucose since I was a low grade type 2 diabetic before.  The little WOW moments are great and I am enjoying everyone that I have had and will continue to have.

Keep up the good work and good luck with the protein.  I am not a fan of the smell so I have started to use AnyWhey.  It smells like vanilla little bit and can be added to anything from fruit juice to chili.  I mix it in what I am eating if I can or add it to some Diet Cranberry juice and get extra protein that way.

Also I can tolerate some of the protein "shots"  I may gag a little but for 40 grams of protein on 3 ounces I will tolerate it.:-)

You are doing wonderful!!

Topic: RE: Chewing...Do I over think it?
I chew about 15-20 times before swallowing.  Just remember that anything too dry will not be a good thing...  I was very worried about a stricture when I started to eat real food again.  But I have learned that as long as I eat moist items and chew very well I will be good.

There are things that we have to relearn and eating has been one for me.  I need to learn what I do and don't like and what my pouch can and can't tolerate.

Good Luck!!
Chrissy
