Hi, Just thought I'd join the group since we will all be experiencing this in the same month.
I think I have everything ready to go.  Any last tips or things that were lifesavers that I may be forgetting.  My surgery is 4 hrs. away from home, so we will be at a hotel for a few days.

Thank you so much. Saying a lil prayer for you too. I had surgery @8:00 yesterday morning. I had same day surgery. I was home by 5:00. Sore as hell, but the burping helps.. (releases the much gases in my belly). Every hour goes by..I feel 10 x better though. Its 2:00am, just wrote in my journel. I hope you have speedy recovery too. I went to Valley Hospital in NJ.. They are the best over there and so caring. Well imgoing to take it easy now. Ill touch base with you soon.

Hi there - sorry it's rough on liquids.  I relate to being hungry, I am on liquids now postop and my Dr. requires 3 weeks on thin liquids and shakes!  I also need to be careful not to break the rules!

For me being hungry makes me irritable, and my face hurts (weird, huh).  Later that becomes a headache if I don't get a few calories and liquid in.  Although because I was just banded I am kind of excited and really motivated to heal well. 

I didn't lose so much weight preop so I think you are doing great.

Yeah my dr sent me home the next day.  He said there was no reason to keep me there.  I am getting up and down pretty good, a little sore but still taking my pain meds (only half a pill).  As far as liquids yesterday I got all my liquids and protein in.  So it was a challenge but doable and you have to stay on top of it or you will forget.  I am not eating anything right now, but my dr said that he wants me starting pureed foods this weekend.  Any question you have are more than welcomed!  I have to say the worse thing about the surgery was waking up off the anesthesia (i don't think I spelled that right..lol)  You will feel like you have swallowed cotton your mouth will be so dry.  But that will pass as it starts to wear off.  But please don't be worried, I was and for nothing.  As Monday approaches you will get more excited/anxious and I am here if you need me!
