Deb,

My Dr. told me I don't have to start liquid til 3 days b4. I have stopped eatting out of habit though and am trying to pay attention to if I am hungery or board. I work  by myself at night and sometimes it's very slow. ( I crosstown dispatch for a trucking company) so I would eat out of boardem.  I have been drinking alot of water and trying to not eat even though I can. I was also told I didn't have to do the clenseing either. just 3 day before only clear liquids and nothing after midnight the night before. I wish you the best of luck on sticking with just liquids for 2 weeks.

Sure that would be cool! I'm pretty sure we'll both have a lot of questions to ask eachother after the big day. I too am taking vacation time for the surgery and recovery and actually I just used another reason for surgery. I told them that I needed to have another procedure done. They've known about all my recent health issues so they think its related to that. But my family knows about it. They are kind of concerned because they say its so risky but I don't care cause its for me and I'm the one who has to live with it and not them. So they know better than to say anything else negative. Because I would simply tell them its my life, body and my choice. Too bad! And my husband is with me on this so that's all that really matters to me.

I was in your shoes a week ago.  Nothing to be nervous about, this time tomorrow you will be recovering in your nice room relaxing and getting ready for the ride of your life!  Good luck and stay positive.  I had never been put under and was nervous as hell.  And now that it is all over, I don't know what in the world I was nervous about!  Everything will be fine.  I will keep you in my thoughts!

Hi there,

Did they give you any omaprazole to take?  It's generic for prilosec.  You have to open up the capsule and empty the time release pellets into a tablespoon, mix it with something.  I think this is helping along with the fact that my surgeon says I can take tums for my calcium at this point, this help to keep acid down too.

Joetta,

I am so glad to hear you are doing well as i was wondering how you were.  Yep, we've made it to the losers bench and now we just have to work our RNY tools.  I am having trouble getting all the water in, but I am working on it. I am so happy I can tolerate milk too!  Woo Hoo.

Keep in touch,

Barb

It was very nice of you to apologize because im sure a lot of people found offense to the post...im sure it wasnt your intention to be offensive and i know what you were trying to get at... sometimes we really have to choose our words carefully though because im sure most of us here have a person in our life who discourages us enough... this is a place we come to for comfort and support....

kiberwig is a wonderful person and she cheated and so has probably 80% of others on that liquid diet....once you cheat you cant take it back all you can do is admit too it  and i think that was a great step admitting to it... heck when i cheated on the diet i did it secretly so no one would know. she was very bold to come out to the forum and let them know what was going on and ask for help...i wish i would have done that....

did i feel i wasnt ready for the surgery??yes i did...did i talk to the nurse of my suregeon and express that???yes i did and she had very kind words and it helped me to get my act together and do what i needed to do in order to get my surgery...and i got it and i have been doing well....

if you asked me again today was i ready for it...i will tell you no but i have it and i have to do what i need to do to make it work and im doing that.....

My life is like McDonalds....I'm Lovin It
