Topic: Update on Babycakes1970's surgery today
Hi, Everyone.
I called the hospital and spoke with a nurse in recovery. Robin (Babycakes1970), who had RNY earlier today, is "doing well." Please continue to pray for Robin, that she will recover well and quickly.
Blessings,
Mary

Topic: RE: Surgery tommrow Jan 12th
I guess it all depends on your insurance. Cause I had my appt on the 17th of Dec. and by the 19th my doctors office manager called me to give me the great news about the approval! And then that following Monday I had the approval letter that your insurance sends in my mail box. So to me that was really really fast. But it may be apart of the co-morbids that I have. Which is Hypertension and Diabetic but I guess they figure might as well just approve the surgery and see if we won't have to pay for her presciptions anymore.  But for whatever reason it may  have been THANK GOD it was quick. Now I just wait till January 27th. Which feels like its not coming soon enough. But I know it'll get here eventually. Yay!!!!

Topic: 6 days out, but feeling hunger. Anyone else?
Hi everyone.   Just found this site and decided to join.

Other than the expected pain and uncomfort of surgery I have experienced no side effects.  No nausea, able to keep everything down, only minor gas discomfort, no problems chewing, swallowing, drinking, etc.  My only complaint/concern is that my belly feels like I could still eat a "normal" serving from my previous life.  I was on the 2 week liquid diet only without a bite of food since Dec 22nd (the holidays stunk, by the way!).  Anyone else still feel like they are hungry?  I truly have no sensation of a "pouch" in my belly.  I still feel the same, except for the pain which has gone down quite significantly in the past 24 hours.

Looking forward to sharing ideas and concerns wtih my fellow surgery partners.

My RNY gastric bypass was Jan 6th in Florida.

Hope everyone is recovering well!

Oh hun, thats awful I hope you feel better soon. I can only imagine your pain. Ihaven't had my surgery. But Its lap not open on the 27th is my big day. Can I ask if you don't mind why they did open and not lap? Feel better soon....and tell your family they need to stop doing that cause even though there not trying to be mean that still sucks and big!

Hellllooooooo

I'm on the 20th as well. I'm on day 7 of my liquid diet. Only 8 more days to go - woo hoo!!!

I'm excited, nervous, but mostly I seem to have ants in my pants and no ability to concentrate on anything! I have tons of energy too, but I've also been pretty grumpy on the liquid diet. I'm stomach is still very crampy and noisy. I have some had hunger too, but for the most part, it seems to be my stiomach that is grouching about no food.

Mine is tomorrow too! YAY!

Luckily I only had to do 2 days of clear liquids cause that stuff sucks, I don't even think I'm going to try to eat today, I just can't do that chicken broth anymore!

I'm a little nervous, are you?

Welcome home, we're happy to have you back where you belong.  We're pulling for you that each day will bring relief and good feeling.

Tell the family to take their chinese food in the other room and give you a break!

Hugs
