Topic: HERE I GO AGAIN!
WELL I JUST HAD THE RUG PULLED OUT FROM UNDERNEATH ME! THEY CANCELLED MY SURGERY FOR TOMORROW MORNING. THE GAS MAN DOESN'T LIKE THE STRESS TEST RESULTS. AND MY PCP HAD TOLD ME HE FELT IT WAS OK. BUT THE TWO OF THEM TALKED TODAY AND THE ANESTH DECIDED HE WASN'T HAPPY, SO IT LOOKS LIKE NO SURG FOR ME TOMORROW. I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW I FEEL. ACTUALLY I DON'T THINK THERE IS A WORD FOR THE WAY I FEEL.

Topic: RE: whatcha eating?
I start with 8oz of milk with whey protein (24g) and about 10-12 oz of decaf hot tea
breakfast: scrambled egg then some puree strawberry or applesauce
lunch: 2 oz puree tuna (nasty!!) and 1 oz puree carrots
snack: peach yogurt (Dannon light and fit)
Dinner: 2 oz cut up cheese and some other puree veggie or fruits
snack: milk with protein or yogurt
throughout the day have Popsicles and lots of water, sf tang or propel
I've seen that several others on here are on a clear liquid diet AFTER the surgery? My liquid diet was for 2 weeks Prior to surgery. That my friends was torture, as it included Christmas, my birthday and new years. oh well.
I actually feel hungry now, so trying not to eat more than what is prescribed above. The nutritionist was adamant about getting 80oz of liquid and 80oz of protein per day with the food.
Anyone find a puree protein food they actually like?

Tell me about it! Yes, I chose this, but it doesn't make it any easier. HOWEVER, when I get on the scale, I know it's all been worth it. Might as well face it now and be able to turn it down later. My mom is coming over on Wed. to help me out. She's bringing doughnuts, gobs and no doubt chips for my hubby and the kids. I figure, they can enjoy it for now, but they are going on the healthy road right with me as soon as I am able to take care of my kids myself. My children will live by example. So, I feel your pain! But it will get better as soon as we are allowed a soft diet. Lots of prayers and love, Bobbi.
Topic: RE: 6 days out, but feeling hunger. Anyone else?
I started to get hungry on Sunday. My surgery was on the fifth. So I warmed up some No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast and slowly sipped it. By about fifteen minutes of slow sips, I was full. So, I thought the best thing to do to get through one more week would be to do clear liquids as normal around the clock, but at breakfast, lunch and dinner have either super skim milk, the instant breadfast with superskim milk or sugar free hot cocoa. It really curbs the appetite. My pain is almost gone, but I feel such and empy, hollow achy feeling in my belly that I am almost afraid to try soft food. I know it's normal, but it will take some getting used to. Don't forget to stay hydrated. I'm rootin' for ya. My prayers are with you. God Bless, Bobbi

Yep, I have to keep a food diary. They gave me special forms I have to fill out and turn in. so far I have lost 12 pounds as of this morning. Pretty excited to see the scales going down.
