I'm hanging in there with the diet. The last few days have been a blur for me. I lost my mom yesterday and had all of my pre op testing today - so I've been too busy to think about food, just getting in my protien shakes...but I've decided not to postpone my surgery...it's not going to bring her back and she was so excited for me.

Hi all,

I just wanted to say how great I think this message board is. I just joined the site a few days ago and I'm so impressed with the support that everyone gives. As I read through some of the posts I can totally identify with so many of you and the emotions we are all experiencing. I'm fortunate to have a good friend that is 1 1/2 years out and he has been a wealth of information and support, although it is nice to have others to chat with and share our stories and experiences.

My surgery is 8 days away (1-23-09) and I'm so looking forward to it. One of my long time childhood friends is also going in on the same day so we have been arguing (jokingly) about who will get operated on first....lol Needless to say it will be a wild ride for the nursing staff with the two of us there at the same time.... ha ha (and one of the nurses is a good friend of ours..lol)

Anyway.... I just wanted to say how great I think you all are.

Karen,

Congrats on your date !!... I have 8 more days to go until my surgery day and I can't wait !!!..... I've had my surgery date for a month and a half and the anticipation has been a killer. But soon we will both be over the biggest bump in the road and on our way to a healthier future. Just think.... by the time summmer gets here we will be hot lookin' babes... ha ha.
