Good luck tomorrow!
Anyway, I have lost about 6 pounds.........how much has everyone else lost? I know everyone is different. Some on here have the band others the bypass so just wondering how everyone elses progress is going.
720 calories (should be 1300)
34g carbs (less than 100g)
80g protein (between 90-120g)
No wonder I had a headache! I was barely sustaining myself. So I made some adjustments (added soup for dinner). I can't find a post that talks much about what people are eating (drinking) for the 2 week diet so I'm hoping someone will see this and tell me if I'm missing something. I know my pre-op diet is to shrink the liver and not necessarily lose weight but I was under the impression that people drop it like crazy...I worry that my 2 days of nearly starving myself at 720 calories put the kabosh on losing.
protein shake for breakfast, lunch and dinner (all 20g protein each)
chicken bouillion (15g protein) for lunch with SF jello
drink mix in (16g protein) with some carrots (I'm allowed any non-starchy raw or cooked veggies, parkay no fat spray if steamed/sauteed)
steamed mushrooms
98% fat free cream of (chicken/mushroom/broccoli) soup (added this for calorie sake)
celery with 2tbsp peanut butter to get me in the protein range
I feel like I'm following to a T and am now hitting the ranges but the weight loss isn't there....
Ideas?
I was emotional the day before the surgery too, but I have so far had a great recovery and am feeling almost normal. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers this week. You will do great and we're going to save you a seat on the losers bench.
Hugs,
Barb
Welcome home and to the losers bench. I know what you mean about the noises, but this goes away. My Dr actually had be take Pepcid before bed and it did the trick. I had the runs the 1st couple of days but now it's fine. Walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip and take a nap as you need to.
Hugs,
Barb
Here's a small poem someone sent to me, I'm almost where you are taking deep breaths being on the other side of support hope this helpful:
What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now.

I can totally identify with you on some of the emotions. When I would tell people I'm having RNY surgery, some would look at me like I have six heads !! They would say things like, "Why??...Your not that heavy" or "You don't have that much to lose, couldn't you do it on your own?" Well what they don't understand is.... I'm a lot heavier than I look and I KNOW how much I weigh. It's not just a matter of losing 10 or 20 pounds for me. Of course the ones who make those comments are the ones who never battled a weight issue. They are the people that I simply write off as being uneducated and narrow minded.
Could some of your emotional state be a result of just being tired of all the constant questions and comments from family members and friends? ( I know mine is ) Although they may mean well, they don't realize how their comments are driving you crazy !! Instead of asking you "Are you ready?" or "Are you nervous?", they should be giving you words of encouragement instead. Some people just don't get it. Don't let it get you down !! ...... In case no one else has said it to you, I will........ YOU GO GIRL !!!!! You jump on that NEW LIFE and ride like the wind !!!
We both know it's the right thing for us. And that's the only thing that matters at this point.... What is right for YOU!!!
I am going in for my surgery on 1-23-09 and I CAN'T WAIT !!! Don't let their comments cause you second guess your decision !! Keep embracing your thoughts of starting your NEW life !!!
Keep in touch and let us all know how your doing when you get home.
Take care,
Kim
You've got through the worse part. Now just walk a little every hour, sip a lot of fluids, breathe deeply a lot and you should feel better every day. Good luck and good health!
