3 Month Update!

I haven't been here in awhile, my fiancee was laid off a couple weeks after my surgery and we ended up relocating. Just starting to get settled in SC. But my 3 months is tomorrow and just had to tell you all the good news!

So today is the day before my anniversary but I officially lost 50 pounds as of today!! Woot!

I have lost 6 pant sizes, thats right I said 6!

I have way less pain and actually take my dog for a walk almost every night!

Mike and I go out. We never went out before. The other day we went to the movies and I automatically put the armrest up so I would fit and put my drink on the floor. After awhile I was tired of my drink being on the floor so I thought I would try to put the armrest down and see what happened, and I fit! I was comfortable! It was probably one of the greatest moments of my life, so far anyway!

Now bad things, I still can't eat much. I don't get near enough protein and I can tell. My hair is falling out and my muscle mass is depleating. But I am aware of what I need to do and actually have an appointment with a specialist tomorrow who is determined to find a protein supplement that I don't vomit!

So that is about all. I am excited that I lost 50 pounds already. I can't wait to see what I will look like at the end of the year. Oh and I turn 30 on April 21st!

Thanks for reading!

Congratulations!!!  Our surgiversary is on the same  Day!    You've already hit so many accomplishments.  6 pant sizes is awesome!  Plus the theatre seat I know is a big one.   I haven't tried it yet but when I do, I hope I have the same results as you did.  Who know's I might just tear up right there......lol
Good Luck with the protein.  I'm having the opposite affect.  Seems like my pouch can hold more and more each day and my self control has to kick in to say stop already!
Keep up the great work!!!

67 pounds!!! No you my dear, are doing awesome!

I wouldn't know what I would do if my restriction wasn't so...there! Self control? I still don't know what that is...I need a few more months to figure it out!

Thanks for the support!

WOO HOO YOU ROCK!!

I had my 3 month follow up on Friday and was very happy that all my labs came back good.  Mostly my glucose since I was a low grade type 2 diabetic before.  The little WOW moments are great and I am enjoying everyone that I have had and will continue to have.

Keep up the good work and good luck with the protein.  I am not a fan of the smell so I have started to use AnyWhey.  It smells like vanilla little bit and can be added to anything from fruit juice to chili.  I mix it in what I am eating if I can or add it to some Diet Cranberry juice and get extra protein that way.

Also I can tolerate some of the protein "shots"  I may gag a little but for 40 grams of protein on 3 ounces I will tolerate it.:-)

You are doing wonderful!!

So are you! You might want to call your nutritionist about those protein shots, mine told me something about there not being amino acids or something in it so you actually don't process the protein. I don't remember exactly so I would just call them up and ask.

I sooo need my labs done but I don't have insurance right now. :(  Hopefully soon!

Wow I am so jealous of how well your doing!

Hi January surgi friends,

I haven't posted on this forum for a while, but thought I'd take a look and lo and behold there were folks posting!  Happy 3 months and from what everyone's posts say, you're all doing great.

Just wanted to say hi and say life is grand and that I love my RNY.  No food intolerances to date.  I don't do sugar or steak but everything else is pretty great.  I love my Unjury protein and getting plenty of protein in.  I am still challenged with my water intake, but I have added ice tea with the blessing of my nutritionist and my coffee in the morning , she says that counts as fluid!  Works for me.

Hope everyone is great, and I will be checking in from time to time.
