Type of Surgery & Date:  mini-open RNY Jan.14, 2009

Weight Day of Surgery:  323

Weight Today: 266

Total Pounds Lost:  57

Biggest obstacle to overcome:  So far, i have not really had any problems.  I am really fortunate.  My one issue has been a few times where I didn't chew my food and ate too fast and it got stuck.  Once I learned to CHEW CHEW CHEW, all has been well.

Any surgery regrets:  That i didn't do it sooner!

What do you eat (typical day menu):  Very varied menu.  I do make sure protien is at least 40% of my diet and i have a packet of the Live Active Crystal Light at least once a day with my water to help keep me regular.  I stay away totally from anything fried, pasta, white flour, and sugar.  I eat a lot of beef, pork, fish and green veggies and fruit.  i eat about 1000-1100 calories per day.

Exercise schedule:  i work out at the gym at least five times a week with an hour of cardio.  Twice a week i meet with a personal trainer for strengh training and what I call TORTURE.  She is amazing and after six weeks with her I have lost a total of 26 inches.

All in all I feel like this is the best thing I have ever done for both myself and my family.

WOW!  I don't get it.  First, let me say, I am very happy for all of you.  WAY TO GO.  I just can't figure out why I feel so inadequate.  I mean, I am up there w/ you all, but I feel like what i've been doing isn't good enough.  So here we go:

Name:  Bobbi
Type:  RNY
Date: jan. 5
weight day of:  284
current: 233
total lost: 51
Biggest obstacle:  fear of failure.
Regrets: none.  not one. nada. zilch.  Best choice I've made in years.

Daily menu:  typically B: 8oz protein shake
L: 1/2 cup of some soft protein
snack: 8oz. veg. juice and handful of all bran crackers.
                         S. 2-3 oz. chicken, turkey, pork, lean cut of steak.... and 1/4 c. veggies
Bedtime: some lean protein/or a protein bar.

WATER ONLY.  ABOUT 80-100 oz. a day.
I barely eat any carbs at all.

EXERCISE:  one hour a day for five days a week.  Walk away the Pounds: the 3 mile walk plus 16 minutes of butt kicking resistance training.  If it's nice out in the evening, My family and I take a walk.

And yet, I still compare myself to others.  Why do some lose so much with not working out?  While others, like me seem to lose slowly and steadily?  I feel tremendous guilt with each meal I eat.  Why?  I just don't know.
