How are you doing on weight loss?
I am 4 weeks post op today and was wondering how everyone is doing on their weight loss? I have lost 36 pounds to date including the pre-op diet. Which to me seems like a small number, the inches have been coming off also. Please don't get me wrong I am not complaining by any means!!! I do not regret having the surgery as I know this is a life long journey and my weight will come off in a healthy manner which is what I want.
I can't wait to be released to be able to exercise more than just walking. I want to start some strength training to help with the loose skin and to tone up as much as I can along the way...
Good to luck to everyone and keep up the great work!!!
I was three weeks out from surgery as of yesterday. I have lost about 28 lbs, including the pre-op diet. That means I'm down about 15lbs post op. I feel like I'm losing slowly, but I'm o.k. with that as long as the surgeon is o.k. with that, and he is. Anyway, 'slowly' is a relative term. I certainly was never able to lose 15 lbs in 3 weeks before.
I'm just going to keep doing what I'm supposed to be doing and see what happens at my 6 week appt.
Sounds like your doing well!

Hi Fellow Jan. Surgery friends,
I have lost about 41 lbs including my pre-op. I slowed down 2 weeks ago, and then this week lost 5 lbs. I figure my body is just redistributing and getting used to the 500 calories per day. I try to keep the protein up but that adds calories too and since my program is calorie based for the first 3 months, it makes it challenging. I'm not complaining as I am losing inches and my clothes are loser.
Congrats to all and I hope we all keep in touch.
Hugs,
Barb

I am so proud of everyone, we are all doing well!!!!
I am also loosing inches which is almost better then pounds especially now... I was told by my friend who had the surgery almost 4 years ago too keep a large pair of pants so that you can do the whole look where I came from picture... Also take your measurements, when I looked back at my pre-op measurements last night I felt much better about things. Plus it doesn't help that I am bloated.
Have a great day!!

Hi
I saw my surgeon in SEPT. I was 307.
Today I weighed and i am 257.
My Lap RNY was Jan 19Th.
I think i was 275 the day of surgery.
So since surgery i have lost 18lbs.
I don't think its coming off fast enough. I am
so concerned that I'm doing something wrong.
My nurtionest said to be patient.
I'm having a hard time getting in enough protein and all my fluids.
I have started walking a little bit and went back to work 3 weeks after surgery.
(wayyyyyyy to soon)
I'm so depressed. I didn't think this was going to be so hard.
I honestly thought id get up in the AM and be 5 pounds lighter daily!!
No such luck.
