How are the Jan 23rd post op friends doing?

Hi all.....

Was just wondering how all the Jan 23rd post op friends are doing?

So far so good for me..... Still feel like I have a little gas left in me but other than that, things are going pretty good.

I've tried some soft (scrambled eggs) and puree foods the last two days and everything went down well. I actually felt better after I ate that stuff then when I drink protein shakes or other liquids (other than my water). I seem to have to burp a lot after drinking the protein shakes no matter how slow I try to drink them.

My husband is feverishly trying to get my old treadmill working again (just waiting on a replacement part) so that I can really get down to some serious walking.  With the snow and ice outside it's impossible to do any serious walking outdoors. I've been riding my stationary bike instead but prefer walking. My husband is headed in for Lap Band surgery on 2-11-09 so I'll soon have a walking partner.

I hope everyone else is doing well and hope to hear from some of you soon.

Take Care all,
Kim

Hi Kim

Glad to hear your doing well.  I also am doing great,...No Pain,No gas...Getting my liquids in OK, but I hate the protein shakes..so I worry about getting my protein in...I hope I'll do fine once I can get protein from meat.

Best of luck to you and also Lots of luck to your Husband.

Sandra,

Great to hear that your doing well also !!

I know what you mean about the protein shakes !   I can't stand any of the powder mix ones, although the Muscle Milk Light (pre made in the little boxes) isn't too bad. The liquid stage was killing me.  Made my belly and intestines talk and gurgle way too much which is why I dared to start trying some soft and puree foods earlier.

Keep in touch and good luck on your road to a new life !!

Take Care,
Kim

I told my husband this morning, that I guess I would just have to go Bald. Cause I just cant stomach those protein shakes. Maybe in time I might.

Doing great, no pain, no gas ... walked a lot even before I was 24 hours post op, back to work at 5 days (could have gone back sooner though) ... all is well, I have my 1st fill February 24th and looking forward to see what that feels like to have restriction.  My diet is well, no problems, I can tell I am losing but am sticking to weighing only every 2 weeks so I dont obsess so my next weigh in is friday 2/6.  The shakes are fine, jello, yogur****er, broth, cream of wheat, all great.  Though early in the game, I think I love my band!
