How long is it "normal" for??

I feel nauseated all day long and it is so frusterating!! I have my surgery on January 23, So I am only 5 days post op....its almost like hunger nausea...u know when u were really really hungry before the surgery...and u felt nauseated because of it?? That is kinda what it feels like!

I just want some reassurance that this is not going to be normal for the rest of my life!!! I don't want to have to deal with this for 60 odd more years

thanks in advance

Kandice,

Have you called your surgeon's office and asked about it?  I had my surgery on the same day and I haven't had much nausea at all. The only time I got really nauseaous and felt like I was going to lose it was the day after surgery when they made us drink that nasty stuff so they could do the xrays to check for any leaks in the rerouted plumbing. Thank god they were quick with the medicine to calm our stomachs as soon as we got back to the room. My surgeon's office told me to call them and let them know if I was having continuous nausea after being released.

I still get a feeling now and then, but it feels more like there is a burp trying to come up and it just can't make it. I also noticed a nausea type feeling if I bend over for any lenght of time. Again, I think mine is due to still having some gas stuck in there because it goes away a few seconds after straightening back up.

Don't be afraid to call your surgeon's office and inquire about it.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Take care,
Kim

Kandice,

Welcome home.  Sorry to hear you are feeling pukey though.  I would surely call your surgeon because they might be able to give you something for that and you won't have to suffer until it passes.

Warm thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Barb

Hey Kandice, so glad you are home and surgery went well!  I would call your doctor and get something for nausea, you are going through so much already and still in some pain, so the doctor should give you something to stop the nausea.  My doctor sent me home with a Rx of anti nausea meds to take if I needed to because the Dilauded they had me on made me so sick.  I hope you feel better soon!
