1/14 lapbander update any others?
Hi everyone. I'm finally starting to feel well enough to post an update. I didn't see any updates from any of the other 1/14 banders... do share!
I felt very painful and very uncomfortable the first few days and was taking oxycontin. I'm finally starting to feel somewhat normal again. The good news is that I have lost 12 lbs since coming home from surgery. WOOT! On my post op f/u appt. I was told that I had tons of restriction already (and maybe even too much!) just from the fluid left in the band from surgery. Whoa! She said that it appeared to her that I had picture perfect "sweet spot" already. WOW! It will be quite some time before I will need a fill! Just wanted to give an update and see how everyone else was doing since thier surgeries. Hope all is well!
Here's to looking fine in 2009!

I am a 14th bander too. I ate my first solid food, an egg, yesterday and only ate half of it. Not sure if I was full or scared to eat more....lol
I am down 12 pounds. I don;t have much pain but when I wake up in the morning I don't feel very good. After a while I feel better. My energy level is WAY low stll.

I too don't have a lot of energy and also don't feel so great when I first wake up. My guess is that it comes with the territory. I start to feel better a few hours later but am finding myself slowly seeming to get more energy. I think it will get better as we get used to our new way of life. Keep up the good work!
Hi Spoken4 and the other Jan bandsters:
My surgery was 1/6 so just a bit ahead of yours (18 days out today). I have put my journey on my blog if you are interested. I have lost 14 lbs so far, most in the first 2 weeks. I started eating thick liquids and purees this week, and I think my calories are too high because my weight loss stalled. I have eaten some mushies well chewed, and it all goes down fine. I can feel just a bit of restriction, but also was ravenously hungry on liquids only so I will look forward to that first fill. I went back to work and find that I am tired at the end of the day of sitting in chairs, and want to lay down to stretch out. I'm using most of my abdominal muscles with no problem now, but still have some twinges when I move a certain way. Incisions rub on clothes - bra especially is hard to take without putting some padding between my bra and my incisions.
BUT - my tight pants are looser already - WOOT! I can already see the difference of those few pounds.
Let's have a wonderful year and be back to celebrate next New Year!

Thanks for sharing! I would love to check out your blog! What's the address? I gained a lb. and have been stuck there for 2 days. I don't understand how it is possible to gain and not loose when we don't even consume 500 calories a day? It's not the TOM? Do you think it could be from not drinking enough water? Oh well, it's too early to get frustrated. I too have been feeling hungrier lately and starting to have cravings. At least not for bad foods, just foods that I can't yet have. Hang in there and feel free to msg me anytime!
Hi Spoken4:
My blog is on OH. Just click on my avatar and it will take you there. Weight loss is a fickle thing. Before surgery I could go up and down by as much as 5 lbs a day. Post surgery I think it has to do with water retention now. I'm currently on strained thick liquids and having a tough time thinking of anything appetizing. Best wishes!
