I just started soft foods yesterday.  it's hard to get half a cup down.  So far I've had one scrambled egg for breakfast both days.  I could only eat half.  For lunch I had 1/4 cup of ricotta yesterday and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and a thin slice of baked ham today.  Supper yesterday was a cup of tomato soup w/skim milk and today I had a 1/2 cup of lean burger with Ragu sauce in it.  I couldn't finish the saltine cracker.
The reason I wrote all of that was because I am wondering how you all are eating?  How much are you able to eat.
I think I am doing okay.
I just don't get how all this weight is going to come off!  I know that sounds weird, but since I feel satisfied, I worry I ate too much.  What say you?
P.S.  GO STEELERS!!!!!!

When did you ahve surgery??
I am 2nd day puree/mushy food. I don't eat half that much. Yesterday I had 2 tbsp scrambled egg, 1/2 banana, ricotta cheese with sauce(about 2 tbsp) and liquids.
Today I got up really late so I had 2tbsp cream of wheat, protein shake with banana, and mashed pototoe with gravy. I am going to have some SF pudding soon.
I was told not to worry so much about the protein count yet just to try different purees and mushies this first week. Next week i am going to keep track of the numbers.
Are you measuring your food?? I measure so I make sure I am not going to overeat. I don't want to experience fullness or puke from overeating.
If you have questions you can always call dietician for advice.

Wait a minute, I am only able to eat 1/4 of a cup at breakfast, lunch and dinner.  There is no eating in between.  I think the cup of soup was because it was liquid.  My surgery was Jan.5th.  I'm feeling my way around this, but now I feel like a pig!  My nutritionist said to only concentrate on protein foods and to eat with a baby spoon and to take twenty minutes to finish the 1/4 cup I am eating.  Sometimes it seems impossible.  I am going by the menus they wrote out and I can't get everything in they say to.  But when I see what you are eating, I can't imagine how you fit it in.  Does your nutritionist tell you to eat several small meals throughout the day? And yes, I measure everything.  I've been doing that since June anyway.  Half a scrambled egg is probably 2 TBSP.  What about a half of a banana?  It comes to about a half a cup.  WOW this is gonna take a lot of learning.  I know I can do it.  Thirty minutes a day on the treadmill seems to be working out great, too.
GO STEELERS!!

C'mon.  TWENTY FOUR POUNDS!!!  DO A DANCE!! IF YOUR NOT PROUD OF YOU.... I AM!!!  My weight has stayed the same since Monday.  I think our bodies are saying " Hey girl, what the heck are you doin' to me?"  But our bodies must obey our actions so weight loss will resume.  It's a protection mechanism, that's all.  Keep moving forward.  God is Good.

Hello how is everyone!!! well i wanted to tell you guys that you guys aren't alone... I am only able to eat 1/2 of a fried egg in the morning and depending how I feel in the afternoon i try to eat hamburger meat or i have a small amount of deli meat and some string cheese, at dinner i love refried beans with a little bit of hot salsa, it was funny though my nutritionist at my surgeons office told me to try pinto beans and cheese from taco bell and I'm telling you they tasted great, so if anyone wants to try that it is pretty good... i also went to see my primary doctor this past week and he wants me to eat at least 4 times a day and i was like i can barely eat the three meals a day!! i have had problems with dumping syndrome and it isn't pretty but i think i got everything down now JUST EAT SLOW!!! i feel like I'm not eating enough but tomorrow I'm going for my second follow up ( i had surgery on Jan. 5Th ) and i want to make sure i am eating enough.. so don't worry you aren't the only one who is unsure about things!!
