Surgery is over.

I had surgery on Wednesday, late afternoon. I remember seeing the clock when I got back to my room and it was 9:50 PM! I was up most of the night in the hospital. Apparently, I may have sleep apnea. Everytime I would fall asleep the alarms would go off saying I wasn't getting enough oxygen. They released me at 9 the next morning, less than 12 hours after making it back to my room. I've been at home since. The next 2 days were easy. Today has been hard. Today I am exhausted...can barely move. I guess the surgery finally caught up with my body. I'm doing what I'm suppose to be doing. I know it will get better. My belly makes noises all the time and I'm constantly in the bathroom. I just needed to connect with the board where I could get some encouragement. Thanks. Lindsey

Keep on moving and drinking sips of water... hopfully that will help. I am praying for you if that helps and I know you can do it. This is the beginning of great things to come, just think of your final goal and all this will pass. ~~ MA

Lindsey,
The gurgle does not stop! I came home on Wed after Mon. Surgery. I have to say that you will feel better everyday. Friday was the first day that I can say that I actually felt great! All I really experienced was muscle soreness and that gas/air bubble rolling up my chest that lasted for a second every so often. That does get better too. It is hard to get all the liquid in. Just keep sipping and walking. And rest.
Post later and let us know how you are doing,
Lisa

You've got through the worse part.  Now just walk a little every hour, sip a lot of fluids, breathe deeply a lot and you should feel better every day.  Good luck and good health!

Lindsey,

Welcome home and to the losers bench.  I know what you mean about the noises, but this goes away.  My Dr actually had be take Pepcid before bed and it did the trick.  I had the runs the 1st couple of days but now it's fine.  Walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip and take a nap as you need to.

Hugs,
Barb

Thank you for your comments. I feel a bit better today. It is hard to get all the fluids down. And, there is a whole household going on around me...eating. Today is a better day though. Thank you again.

Listen, my third day was the hardest as well.  But, I've been told that anytime your body goes through a trauma wether in surgery or an accident or something like that, that the third day s always the toughest.  Keep walking and sipping, and get checked for the sleep apnea.  My surgeon has all his patients evaluated for this before surgery.  I was found to have it.  At first the c-pap machine really irritated me, but now I feel so much more rested and energetic.  It is worth looking into.  You may not need it long as you will be losing a lot of weight.  God's blessings upon you.  Bobbi
