Just wanted to check in and see how everyone else who had surgery on jan 5th-the same day as me are doing.....

I am getting more than a little tired of the liquid diet thing and thank god I didn't have to do it more than a day before surgery.  Anyway I am on full liquids until Jan 19th than I can start pureed foods.  How is everyone feeling?  I have been a little tired but otherwise doing good.  I tried some sugar free yogurt the other day and took one bite and it was so sweet--I didn't even want to try and eat it!  Anyone else notice that about sugar free stuff after rny?  I guess the sugar substitute is even sweet to me--I have had to dilute things down.  I guess that is a good thing since sweets were my biggest weight issue!  I don't know if I should ask how much weight we are all down or not--I don't want anyone to get depressed or anything about it.  I guess if any one is curious how much I am down say so below and I will give my number so far.  I have to confess I haven't done much for exercise yet, except walking around the house and laundry and dishes for 5 people.  Our weather has not been working in my favor to get to the gym.   Anyone else off to a sluggish start with the exercise or am I just being lazy and making excuses?  Well, I will wait to see how you all are doing.

Hi Amy,

My surgery date is Jan 26th. I feel confident and blessed that everything will go fine. I am however curious how much you have lost already. You can email me at ibpoetry@aim

I look forward to hearing from you

Hi Amy

I also had my surgery on the fifth. I am doing ok I suppose. I am having some gas / constipation pains in the lower left side of my belly..at least I hope that is what it is...

I am also on full liquids and I had diarrhea until then now this, I would rather have the runs..SORRY

I am getting more sleep these days. At least 3 hours stints which is great. I have lost a few pounds and need to update my signature...I haven't had any trouble with the SF stuff, or anything sweet. Is a matter of fact I am a meat and potatoes gal and have been craving sweet stuff. Weird huh.

Oh well any insight on my side pain let me know

God Bless

Lisa

If you take into consideration what I weighed when I got HOME from the hospital we could use 212 as a starting weight....Just a thought

I had my surgery on the 5th.

As of this past tuesday I have graduated to puree.
It's puree and protein drinks.

I went to the doctor on tuesday, and was given the
okay to goto puree and just in that week alone I lost
19 pounds.

I just walk around the block once a day, and then just
regular house things.  Sometimes I can hardly even
feel like I had the surgery, I forget.  Not in a bad way
but when others are having dinner or something, I
wonder why im not hungry, and it's like oh ya duh.
lol..

Goodluck!

I get to start pureed food monday!  Glad to hear you are doing so well.  I have started using my gazelle and hope to get in the gym this week if the weather cooperaates and I can get out of my driveway.  What was your first soft food??  I know exactly what you mean about the lack of hunger--it has showed me how much my life used to revolve around what I was going to eat......

Well, I am with you.  I start soft foods on Monday which can't come too soon.  I can no longer stand the thought of jello or broth.  SF Hot Cocoa gives the runs unless you buy it with splenda.  But, the no sugar added Carnaation Instant breakfast is wonderful.  That, tea, and water is all I can stomache at this point.  I have lost quite a bit of weight, but I think the bigger someone is the more they will lose at first.  I will begin my stint at the gym on Monday.  Luckily, I absolutely love working out.  Now, I won't ache so much afterwards as the weight goes off.  I've always loved sports and cannot wait to dive in.  I still have a lot of pain around my belly button and on my right side, but I have a check up on Monday.  Keep moving strong.  We are all victorious.  Bobbi
