Thanks to all for the prayers and support.  My surgery was yesterday morning and everything has gone really really well.  I have had very little pain aside from the HORRID gas pains.

However I am on pain meds, but when i had my c-section, even with pain meds I was hurting.  Yesterday I walked five times and so far today I have walked six!  It is the only thing that gets rid of the gas.

I am keeping down both cold and hot liquids, just not a lot at once.  I feel like my new life has started and hope the rest of my January friends are doing so well!

I am just excited that i feel well enough to sit up and be online for a little while.
God is AMAZING!!!

Erin,
Have been thinking about you! You should be coming home today.
I feel great today! Wednesday when I came home I was sore and tired. Took pain meds and slept. Yesterday I felt even better! No pain meds(saved it for bed). Just a little muscle soreness and a air/gas bubble that rolls up my chest on occassion. Today is even better. I do get tired when I do too much so remember even if you feel up to doing stuff, remember to rest often in between.
I have been sipping Orange Spice tea, water SF grape koolaid, and propel. The idea of broth is grossing me out for some reason and the SF jello and pops taste too much like artificial sweetner for me. I like my liquids watered down too and room temp. I have some Ocean Spray Cran grape I am going to indulge in later! I have not been hungry either.
So... I hope all is well and post as soon as you can!

Hey girl!  Glad you are doing well too!  My biggest problem is going to be remembering to drink!  I think once i get back to Mobile and my own house, I will really feel better.

Are you sipping out of the little medicine cups so that you know how much you are taking?  I think I am going to start a count of how many little cupfuls I have each day.  Or actually that's silly.  I guess I just need to measure how much the glass is that I am pouring out of.  You can tell I am loopy off pain meds.

Hopefully once I get the JP drain out, I can be off pain stuff!
Talk to you soon!

Thanks all for the replies!

Erin,
Glad to hear you are doing well! I did drink from medicine cups in the hospital but at home I actually have a kids cup from the Red Robin Resaurant that has ounces measured on it. I have been using that. I just keep filling 4 ouces for every hour.
I was lucky to not have a drain. My Dr. doesn't always put one in. And the catheter was taken out morning after surgery. They just measured urine output after.
Today I actually feel good enough to leave the house if I could. It is freezing so I think I will just stay in and read, watch TV, and keep checking the computer.
Once you get home you will feel better. It is always more comfortable at home!
Well, keep it up and post later!
Don't forget to rest too!

Last night was kind of rough.  It is just hard to find a comfortable way to sleep with this drain in here.  But i did about three hours in the bed propped up, and then after getting up and walking a little bit, I did a couple of hours on the sofa kind of propped up as well.

I keep hoping the gas will dissipate soon.  That is my biggest pain issue right now!  How long did it take for the gas to go away for the rest of you?  My first post op appt is Tuesday and the drain comes out!  YIPPEE!!!!
