Congratulations JessNY.  I am also having my surgery tomorrow.  I am excited that the day is finally here!  I might get nervous when I'm in the hospital, but I hope not.  I have been waiting for this since last March when I went to my first support group meeting.

It is exciting isn't it!  I also waited since last May for surgery, so the anticipation had kind of died down but I was really glad when it finally came.  Take care and best wishes for your recovery.

I guess it all depends on your insurance. Cause I had my appt on the 17th of Dec. and by the 19th my doctors office manager called me to give me the great news about the approval! And then that following Monday I had the approval letter that your insurance sends in my mail box. So to me that was really really fast. But it may be apart of the co-morbids that I have. Which is Hypertension and Diabetic but I guess they figure might as well just approve the surgery and see if we won't have to pay for her presciptions anymore.  But for whatever reason it may  have been THANK GOD it was quick. Now I just wait till January 27th. Which feels like its not coming soon enough. But I know it'll get here eventually. Yay!!!!

I wasn't planning on staying overnight, but it turned out I had to. Brush/comb is one thing I really missed. Your own robe and socks are great as well. You can bring a book if you want, but you will most likely out of it you won't feel like doing anything but resting. Good Luck to you guys.

Congratulations - your day is just about here!  This year is going to be such an interesting year, as our bodies change and we get healthier.  It should be one of the best years.  Take care and be sure to ask questions from your care givers if you need to!

hey there!! My surgery is tomorrow as well. I did my bowel prep which is the worst sh** ever! I'm also doing my liquid diet which has me acting like a true BIT* *. But when it's all said and done I'm happy and excited. I pray for an uneventful surgery and recovery for all of us! Good luck.

Hi!  My surgery date is also tomorrow.  It was supposed to be last Thursday but I got a call early Wednesday (after I had already began the bowel prep) saying that the doc had to reschedule all his Thurs. pts to Monday.  So, needless to say, I had to do the bowel prep AGAIN!  Talking about a PO'd sista....I started last night and haven't stopped going since..lol   I HATE IT!  And I'm hungry since I can't even take the protein shakes since they have milk in them and I'm not supposed to have any milk products...Oh Well, at least the day is finally here!  I'm nervous and excited but more nervous because my daughter is nervous & scared.  My husband & I have talked to her and explained that I'll be fine, but what can I expect from a 9 yo....Here's to the beginning of a new life everyone..... I hope that everyone has an uneventful and speedy recovery!
