Uh Oh
Uh oh, y'all.... surgery is Monday and last night I ate about 1 cup of tomato bisque soup (omg... it was good) and 2 pieces of cornbread!! Bad thing is, I did the same thing Monday night!!! My weight is still going down, but now I just know he is going to open me up and my liver is going to be shaped like a campbells soup can and a piece of cornbread!!!!
What have I done????
What have I done????
Kimberly,
Hello! I just ate a piece of cheese pizza! My surgery is Monday too! I went for my weigh in for Medifast and saw the surgeon Tuesday and he said that I was all set for Monday! That's all I needed to hear! I've lost 11lbs and will do the shakes until Saturday then Sunday it says to do a liquid diet(or Medifast Dr.said) but I am sooo looking forward to the liquid diet for something other then the shakes!
PS. The pizza was not my only cheat.
What time are you having surgery on Monday?
Lisa

You cheated - but look how much weight you have already lost! If you look at my numbers, I only lost about 5 lbs in the preop time because I cheated on occasion the first few days. I finally made it without cheating 4 days prior to banding. Now that I am banded, I am sticking to the rules. You will be able to do this! I think your weight loss so far is really great!
OMG!!
Are all of you serious??
Doesn't sound like your ready for this or you would not have CHEATED!!
What is wrong with you guys??
I am sooo disappointed in you all.
You are only cheating YOURSELF. If you cant stick to this liquid diet for a few weeks how the hell are you going to eat right for a life time. You guys are not ready for this WLS and are not taking this seriously enough. Its not funny or cute that you cheated. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. How dare you cheat and then brag about it on here. Cheese piazza...really??? REALLY!!!! Was it worth it? Was it really worth it??
That's sad. It really is. If your pre-op diet is any indication of your future success then you just proved your going to fail. If you cant get your mind right..then this GIFT that you are going to be given is going to be worthless. Your wasting your time if you cant even get through a few weeks of liquid/protein dieting.
Id love to hear your excuses as why you think its OK to CHEAT. And mind you ...that is what they are...excuses. Excuse is what got all of us here. You all know better...one bite leads to another and then another. You have got to get serious about this. What have you proved to yourself?? Think about it...what has cheating on this diet REALLY proved to you.
If i were you guys...i would really take a long hard look in the mirror and really reconsider if this is the right time in your life for this surgery??
I know I'm going to get alot of negative responses for this post...but I'm not going to sugar coat anything in my life anymore. My life and health mean more to me then a slice of pizza or some corn bread. ( both are things i would of traded my kids for at my biggest weight mind you.)
I ordered pizza last night for my family (cuz its Thursday and that is what we have always done)
My husband ate a large all meat stuffed crust pizza right in front of me.
DID I CHEAT.....NO....
DID I WANT TO...YES...
DID I CALL MY SURGEON AND ASK IF I COULD HAVE JUST ON LITTLE SLICE...YES...
DID I EAT IT.....HELLLLLL NOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I AM ready for this surgery... but if I had the kind of willpower you have, I wouldn't be where I am now.
Yes... I know I cheated myself, but I could've ate the whole pone of cornbread, or the whole p***a (which wasn't me, by the way... I have't had p***a in 2 months!!!), like I used to do. I personally think I have come a long way in 2 weeks. I have lost 17 lbs since I started it.
And, I am already disappointed in myself, thank you for making me feel 10 times worse. I came here looking for encouragement and help, not to be belittled and put down. Thank you, Witchita for your comments, but I will not be back on this board...

Congrats on your 17lbs.
Don't leave the board just because you don't like someones opinion.
(and that is ALL it is..just an opinion)
You posted somehitng saying "uh-oh" and then said what you did. Were you looking for validation and someone to make you feel better about possibility messing up your surgery...the surgery i know you have worked so hard for? I know how hard this is. (trust me i know how hard this is!!) If we all had will power then this site would not exist. (and yes i know it was not you who had pizza..it was someone else that replied to your post.)
You don't need me to make you feel worse. I know your kicking yourself in the butt now. Whats done is done. Move on...don't make the same mistake twice. We are all going to make mistakes. If we had not made mistakes then none of us would be here. (including me)
I was just shocked at how everyone replied and almost bragged about how they too had cheated!! Tomato soup and a piece of corn bread is nothing...just everyone was so freely talking about everything else they had eaten and was almost proud of the fact that the messed up. I know they were just trying to make you feel good..and I'm glad everyone is so honest. I'm glad we can all come here and say whats going on in our lives, our struggles, our fears, our hopes and our frustrations.I guess we do need to keep the board "POSITIVE" .
I'm sorry if you felt my post was belittling you or putting you down in any way shape or form. That was not the intent. I'm glad your ready for this surgery..I'm happy for you to be starting the new year and starting a new life. I'm beside myself with excitement for all of us JAN folks!!
You have plenty of support on this board. Everyone here ( yes including me ) cares how everyone else is doing and yes this is a place for comfort and support and understanding. BUT A TRUE friend would tell you like it is......and then give you a great big hug
so here you go....
(((HUGGGGSSS)))

Hey gang,
Let's all try to be a little more caring and understanding of each other. I know we are all very passionate, but we also need to remember that we are here to support each other and sometimes our passion can drive our tone to not so great places.
As for the cheating- i always say follow what your doc says for sure, but mine doesn't even require a liquid diet until two days before surgery, so i doubt you did any major damage. BUT- he does have a reason for telling you to do this a certain way.
Don't beat yourselves up, just try to stay on track and keep at it one day at a time. We can all do this!!!
Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers....
