how to get over a cold fast???????

.....so i haven't really been on here in a couple days..cause i have the worst cold...7 days before surgery...(this stuff always happens to me)...and if i don't get over this cold they'll have to reschedule my surgery.....uuugggghhhh...I need some tips on how to get over this fast...HELP

I'm told (by my family doctor, my sugeren and my dad who has had a  few surgeries in his life) they will cancel if the cold gets to your lungs and there is liquid in your lungs (I'm freaking out that I am going to get sick cause if I get sick I know it would get reschedule and I would need to reapply to get it done again since my colds all go to my lungs now and I have them for 4 to 8 months now). If it's just your nose and head it will be ok.

Get lots of Vit C in you (I would of said drink lots and lots of OJ but I know I'm not allowed to have juice before the surgery and I'm not sure if its the same for the other doctors). Also get some zinc in you too (like those throat logziends (sorry bad speller) you get in the vit and mineral area of a drug store).

When I get sick I drink lots of OJ and Chocolate Milk and it helps my cold in my nose and head so I'm over them in between 2 to 3 days. Just not in my lungs.

 thx ..i have a lil head cold it is almost gone to ...so i hope it will stay that way...i have a headache tho...but i think its more from doing this diet.....so i hope this goes this cold goes away.....and i hope i don't get another cold cause it is extremely cold here in Germany...it's the coldest winter in Germany since 100 years....its like -35 c here.....i don't know how much it is in degrees but its bad...
