Huge set back surgery less then a week out
Well went to pre adm. today, all went well there nerves started to kick into overdrive when I was talking to the nurse and anest. But none the less I also had my exercise class and that went quick and well. Then I drive all the way home its like a hour drive give or take and the Dr office called they needed to do a weigh in today! So i turned around and drove back to the dr office and weighed in. Well I have until friday to loose five pounds or I cant have the surgery. I started to cry the whole reason I am doing this surgery is because my weight is on and off like crazy and diets dont work. I cryed all the way home I dont know what to do but no eat until friday so I am going to take diet pills and drink water and hope that works. Man this is just a huge set back as if it is not enough to deal with the surgery it self. I am so down and out right now but thanks for listening!! Any ideas would be great at this point!!

Here is the exact diet that I have been on since last Friday. I've lost almost 8 lbs since, so not to worry...
3 Slim Fast Shakes per day. You can also have sf jello, and clear broth or soup broth strained of the any chunky good stuff (I have been doing Progresso Light). Tea (herbal is easier on your tummy) and/or coffee with sweetener only.
I drink water chasers after every shake and even in between if you can, it helps you to feel full.
It's not too bad. You can do this, start tonight!

I've been doing basically the same diet as newbarb2 since Thursday . 3 Slim Fasts a day and plenty of water. I've been doing SF pudding and jello, (plus I cheated a little and had half a bowl of tomato basil soup on Saturday, two boiled shrimp on Monday, and two cubes of grilled chicken yesterday). But I've lost 10 lbs since I started!
I've been working out also (walking, jogging and elliptical cross trainer).
Eating nothing will just throw your body into starvation mode, which will make it hold on to any fat because it thinks it's starving to death.
Try a liquid diet and see how it works. Working out also helps.
