are you tired of hearing "see, you CAN lose weight"
uhhh yeah, when i'm starving myself.
okay, so after basically starving myself for the past 3 weeks, including being on high protein shakes for the past 2 weeks, I have managed to lose 10 pounds (of what, I don't know). So my mom is like, "see, you CAN lose weight, you just have to stick with it.!" OMG! Mom, who in the world is going to be able to voluntarily submit themselves to this kind of diet for an entire year?!
So, mom comes over and she's been real inquisitive about the protein diet. She's about 150 pounds but always complaining and fighting 5 or 10 pounds that creep up. So I give her two packets of my stuff. Here ya go mom, go home and try it and seewhat you think. No No No, hun, don't mix it with milk, just use Water. uh huh. okay, buh bye.
So I call mom up later to see what she thought (she was supposed to have it for dinner). "hey mom, did you drink the stuff? she's like "noooooo." So I was like "why not? BECAUSE YOU WOULD RATHER EAT, RIGHT?!" Not as easy as it seems, huh?
I love my mom, I know she just wants the best for me, but I'm sick of hearing that!
LOVE U MOM!
THANK UUUUU!!
I start my liquid diet today...and hubby is very excited for me.
He thinks i will lose close to 20 lbs in 2 weeks.( REALLY?? Seriously...doubt that)
He also said something similar to your mom..."this is your test..if you can do this for 2 weeks..then you will be OK for surgery" ..I see where that would make sense to him...but after surgery just liquid WILL feel me up. RIGHT?? Maybe I'm wrong...if i could starve myself for weeks and lose weight and be all happy -go- lucky...then hey...why in the world why i have to get surgery??? Oh wait...MAYBE BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!
My mom had told me when i started this whole process that i should just do the diet that i will have to stick to after WLS ... don't go through with the surgery...just eat the way i would if i had it done....AGAIN....THAT WONT WORK!!!!
OMG....so help me if i hear anything stupid the next 2 weeks...LOL
SOOO GLAD your here...you crack me up...please post more often..LOVE IT LOVE IT!!
(((HUGS)))
If that stuff worked, we would have all lost all of our weight in the 80's when Medifast Shakes were "the" doctor supervised diet miracle of the decade. After less than 1 week, I was cheating on that, too. It's a fact that we need real food to fill us up and to satisfy us emotionally. Good Luck to both of you on the liquids pre-op!
I think we ALL have had that thought pass through our minds b4..."ill just eat less" and then we do for a while and then we cheat and then we think..."well, I'll do better tomorrow" and then the next thing you know you have broken another toilet seat/your best friends antique chair/your husbands heavy duty 4X4 drivers seat in his off road jeep and you realize "it's not working!!"
(not that any of that has happened to me...Yeahhh Righttt...all of the above..sad but true!)
SF Cherry lime-aide for me for breakfast....yummy! I do like sweet things for breakfast...i only had a few Min's of freak out when i woke up and thought about what i was going to make for breakfast and then realized that it was more of what was i going to DRINK for breakfast!!
7 hours into the liquid diet...so far so good!!! LOL
Would I honestly sign myself up for surgery where they cut apart my insides and rearrange them if I lose 200 lbs on my own??? Ummm...no! I've even had 2 people tell me that they're going to eat exactly the way I eat post-op. Yeah, sure, if you say so!
Most people just don't get it.
It was so funy reading this. Yesterday at my mother-in-laws house I told her that I had lost 8 pounds on day 7 of my liquid diet. She said the doctor was gonna take one look at me and say I am to thin to do the surgery on me.
HELLOOOOO!!! He is the one who suggested it. I don't think he cancel it because I lost a few pounds by drinking every meal.
No need for the enemas. It goes in liquid and comes out liquid.
I don't think anyone could follow the post op diet that never had the surgery.
16 pounds of this lost before surgery
