Tired of Waiting

I know how you feel. I started this whole process in 2006 and now I am in the home stretch.

I totally agree, we are the same day and it  moving seems like the days are just slowly moving.  I am praying that my appt is really early, so that maybe I can be up and moving by night time.  I guess I will hear sometime on Tuesday.  I can say I am very excited to have it done, but I am getting a little nervous.   I have a friend that is an RN and I have not told her that I am having the surgery and I am really starting to feel guilty.  I am just not sure if I should tell her or not, my husband thinks I should be quiet about it because she can be a little pushy and will want to be there with the day of surgery.  I feel bad too because my children do not know either, they are 4 and 3. I just think that telling them would upset them more right now, they don't like when I go to work.  Any suggestions???

Well as far as the kids go I really don't think they would understand and then that would upset them.  I could be wrong.  My daughter is 9 1/2 and when I told her I would be gone for few days with Nana she point blank asked me where was I going?????  I'm not a good lier, not when put on the spot like that anyway.  lol  But, she knows how hard its been for me to lose weight.  So I told her.  She seems happy for me.  As for your girlfriend................. are you not telling her so she won't come up there or because she won't be happy for you?  If its because she won't be happy for you then I agree, she doesn't need to know.  If its because she'll want to come up there on surgery day......whats the harm?  If she is going to get on your husbands nerves but you want her there I'd explain to your husband that you really want her support and would feel a little more comfortable if she was there.  Can't remember if your having lap band or RNY (sorry)  but if it is RNY your going to be out of comission for longer, wouldn't it be nice to have a RN that cares about you to look in on you?????  Just my suggestion....please take into account husbands are not on the top of my list......mine cheated and now I'm a single mom!!!! heehee

Best wishes to all of you having surgery this week.  Mine is also Tuesday - Lap Band.  I'm just trying to keep busy and distracted to avoid being jittery with anticipation.

Well, I told my friend that is the RN and she was kinda silent, not mad, just not her usual self.  I guess its just going to take time to sink in.
Well I think I am all ready, well I know I am ready, just doing last minute house cleaning and trying to pack a few things, along with getting ready for my son's 3rd birthday on Tuesday.  I think I am going to start a really light diet on Monday...just mushy food then my liquids on Tuesday.  I hope all is going great for everyone else.  As for the hubby, he is just not saying too much...I think he is nervous and he has a hard time with my kids and then my parents are here to help, so that will drive him crazy too.   Best of luck to everyone, I will probably post again tomm and then Tuesday...

Sorry to hear she wasn't happy for you!!!!  Its your decision to have this done, not hers.  You have thought long and hard and have made the choice to do what you feel is right for you.  Not everyone is going to agree.  But, if she is your true friend she will support you.  She will come around.  If not, all of us here are here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once again I'm up in the middle of the night.......on here........can I please just get some sleep??????  I'm just so excitied and ready to start my "NEw ME PlAn" ...............
