4 more days!!!
Jan,
You have given me some great suggestions, thanks SO much. I was toying with the Bariatric Advantage vitamins, but hate to spend that amount on them if I won't like the taste in the end. The Flintstones complete sounds like the way to go for now. I will also need to get my chewable calcium although, UCSF where I will have my surgery says Tums are ok. HUH! I will also look for the Slimfast you mentioned ats that's great on protein. I will look for that.
Please keep in touch. I would love to add you to my friends list, please feel free to do the same.

Hi, Ladies... I am also having my surgery on Jan 7 and getting really excited and nervous. I am not sure what to expect on the pain level... I Have had my gallbladder out and thought that was slightly painful, I also had 2 c-sections - one of which was awful painful and 2 spinal sugeries that believe me the pain was intense for weeks.
I have bought my sf carnation instant breakfast (found in Kmart), flintstones chewables, biotin, calcium, sf pugging, sf jello and some broth. I am nervous about forgetting and lifting something, I have a 3 yr old son and a 4 yr old daughter> I am so afraid that I am going to lift my son up, he always wanted to be held. My husband can't take time from work, so my mom will be there for me, but she is 70 and has bad RA. My parents will be staying with us for a couple of weeks, but still I know me and I want to do for myself and my kids. I was wondering how long until we can drive, I assume as soon as we are off the pain meds. I have been off from work for 2 weeks already and I am just not starting to do things in my house, I have not packed and I am not sure what to pack. I bought carmex for my lips, a bottle of water for the ride home, since it is an hour ride...but what else....robe **** my friend that had the surgery told me that her bra hurt to wear on the way home, but she say bring the largest pair of sweats I own and a pillow for the car ride home.
Help ladies, I am getting nervous and feel like I am in a panic

Ok Don't panic that's what we all here for support. I was told by my Dr that i can not drive for 2 wks. Yes comfortable clothes are a must for the ride home, I to live about 1 1/2 hrs awasy from the hosp that I am having surgery at. I will have water and a pillow also for comfort. I am not taking my own PJ's jsut because I do not want to get any drainage on them if I have any, I will take a robe, slippers, and my cpap machine, chapstick. Most of the hosp will give you toothpaste and brush ,soap, shammpoo so I am not packing those things, plus I will onlt be there for 2.5 days and want to pack light. When you get home let people help you, you will be weak for a while and will need as much rest as possible to back soon on your feet. Everyone's pain level is different I for one do not have a big pain tolorence so I am a little anxious about that, but my doc has assured me he will keep me comfortable.I for one will not be wearing a bra home, sorry I will be going for comfort and all mine are underwires so that will not feel good on the belly fo no bra for a while.I am on my way as a matter of fact to do my before pics and get my measurments done at a friends house, so I can keep track, and so that I can keep a pic of me on my pc so everytime I sit down I will see where I was and where I am now and to make sure I never get to that place again. Good Luck!! post when you can, and remember you not alone here ok.

Welcome to the board! I am a day ahead of you, so I can understand your anxiety! I'm not working the day before because I want to do some last minute things like get my hair cut (so it doesn't drive me crazy), color my hair, go to the post office to stop my mail... I have a list! I have all of my protein, vitamins, and post-op foods already.
I've been staying clear of the main board and the RNY board on OH for a few days, because a lot of the posts were making me more nervous. I know what kinds of complications and problems MAY occur post-op, but I don't need to keep reading about them right now. I'm going into this with the thought that everything will be great and that I will be feeling well quickly.
Good Luck, and keep us posted on how you're doing.

Thanks everyone, best of luck to all of us. I can't believe we are all here and ready to go. We are all going to look awesome. Remember in school when being a loser was a bad thing, now we all can't wait to be on that loser's bench. I think that is so funny. Let's all post as soon as we can. Best wishes for a speedy, as pain free as possible recovery
