New here to the Board
Good Morning Everyone,
I am new here to this board, just found it actually. My surgery date is this Friday (9 Jan), and I am doing the Lap Band. I will be traveling to my parents place (3 hrs) from mine since the hospital is 30 minutes from them. I have a list of stuff I need to bring, any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm exicted but also a little nervous.
Thanks,
foxywii

Welcome to the board. Things I hear to bring are.... comfy clothes to wear to anf from the hospital, CHAPSTICK, slippers, ipod or mp3 player, and of course the essentials ( deodorant, shampoo, etc...) Hope that helps. But you are having the lapband so you will probably be released same day or next. You also need and ANGEL ( that is someone that posts here to let us know you are ok via speaking with someone in your family) Best wishes I will be praying for you.

Thank you for the info/tips... As I won't be at my home for two weeks after surgery I am trying to make sure I don't leave anything out... My cat and I are traveling to my parents and I will be hanging out with them... (although I probably won't need all the time off, it will be nice so I can eat into a routine post surgery and i won't have to make the trip again a week later for post op)... 7 is Pre-op, 9 surgery, 21 is post op... so I will hang out at my parents for a week and maybe see some friends I haven't seen in awhile... who knows... I will be bringing my laptop with me so I will post when I get to my parents after surgery...
Welcome to the board, foxy!
I'm staying with my parents when I come home from the hospital, until I'm able to do things for myself and am in a routine. Luckily, they live only 15 minutes from me, so if I need something my mom could come over here to get it. I'm just packing as if I'm going on a trip- the essential toiletries (although mom likely has anything that I may forget), loose clothing, comfy shoes to go for walks, jammies and slippers, books, CHAPSTICK! I'm taking my protein powders and vitamins over there today, so that will be set. We already went shopping for post-op foods and they are at their house already. Don't forget your cell phone and charger!
Good Luck with your surgery!
