Count Down Checklist

Sleeve Surgery is Tuesday, Jan 6 at 11:30 AM -- about 82 hours away.

What am I forgetting?

I've checked all of my meds, but one -- caught by the pharmacist--and gotten replacement prescriptions for formulations so I can grind everything.  The pharmacist found a really nifty pill crusher for me.

I have my vitamins, protein powder, and plenty of juices -- who knows what will taste good or bad after Tuesday.  Bought a beginning supply of broths -- chicken and beef.  Took advantage of sales on apple sauce and pureed fruit cups for a headstart on the end of the month.

New blender is in place and ready to go.

Kitchen cabinet over the blender rearranged to hold protein powder,  non-perishable shake ingredients and vitamins.  (Someday I will have more cabinet space. HaHa!)

Things to Do

Put labels on my bi-pap so that the water is added properly and they make sure the gel cushion on the mask is not not blocking my nose (if it is, I will swallow lots of high pressuer air -- definitel not good)

Sort out first week's vitamins into my brand new 28 compartment pill sorter.

Hide from world to avoid catching anything.

Laundry

Reconcile bank and make sure all monthly payments are set to go -- on less thing to worry about later.

The house is still a wreck, and I will do what I can to avoid conflict when my mother-in-law arrives.   I will not stress over how much (or very little) help I get from my husband and teenage daughter. I will NOT put my fused back into spasm trying to bend, lift or carry more than I can manage.  And I am only focusing on what I need for my own comfort and health at this point.  Those who want more can do it themselves or shut up.

WHAT AM I MISSING?

Maria,
You are SO organized- I'm jealous! I have everything that I need. Now I just have to decide where to put it all. Like you, I never have enough cabinet space. Your post gave me an inspiration- I'm going to take the cupboard that I have pasta, rice, barley, etc. in and move it all to the pantry in the basement. That way I'll have the intire cabinet for protein powder, jello, applesauce, cream soups, pudding, etc.

I have all of my meds. and vitamins in a 7-day pillbox organizer already and will work on the bills today.

Do you have your comfy sweats and loose clothes ready to go?

Good Luck with your surgery! I go on the same day as you do!
CAN'T WAIT!!!

What a fantastic idea - the one about putting the protein powders and such near the blender.

My surgery is also Tuesday and I'm sick of the liquid diet (Optifast) are you?

Anyway, good luck to you and don't worry about the house....it'll still be there when you are better.....or when others figure out to lend a hand (LOL).

:-)

I don't have a special diet.  Just instrucitons to continue doing what I have been doing with portion control, exercise, etc. and stop eating a Midnight Monday.

I haven't been this jumpy since before my wedding and, like then, I suddenly don't have a strong desire for food.  LOL!

I am working on drinking because I was a little dehydrated when they drew my final blood work for cross and type, so the nurse made a point of telling me to be sure to get in 64 oz per day until surgery.

Maybe watching the video of the surgery was not the swiftested idea I ever had.  I feel better knowing what they are going to do, but now I can't get the images out of my head.  That, and I feel like the part of my stomach I will leave behind is feeling abandoned.  (It's a good thing they are not doing my psych eval this morning.)
