Hi All,
My surgery date is next Thurs, 1/8 with lab RNY.  I'm supposed to drink the cleansing process with the magnesium citrate/ducolax on Tuesday night after 5pm.   However, I have someplace to go Tuesday after work and won't be back home until about 10pm.  So, I was going to start it then.

Initially I was going to work on Wed, but I don't think I'll be able to leave the bathroom if I start the cleansing so late on Tuesday.

Did anyone else work up until the day of surgery?

I think you're right! If you take Mag Citrate and dulcolax after 10pm, you won't get a whole lot of sleep, that's for sure! I would plan on taking the day off, if you can.

My surgery is Tuesday, and I just have to do Milk of Magnesia on Monday, but I'm taking the day off to get some other things done.

Good Luck with your surgery!

if i were you i would just start the cleanse on wednesday morning and i would not go to work...if you do it at night you wont get any sleep because you will be in the bathroom all night. im sure it wont make a difference if you wait a few hrs later to take the cleanse..

My life is like McDonalds....I'm Lovin It

Every doctor is different, but I have surgery on the 6th, and I have to take my cleansing magnesium before noon on the 5th..

I would suggest like some of the others to take it the day before, and call into work.. You will become BEST friends with the toilet, and it may cramp you up a bit, so staying home is the best, and you they are right, you don't want to have to deal with that the night of, what if you continue to feel like you have to      go on surgery day... That would SUCK!!

So those are just my 2 cents...

Good Luck hun..
