this is driving me crazy!  i know each and everyone of you HAS to be feeling the same way.  im just ready for it to be over (the waiting that is) to get the rest of my life started.  i had to stop  drinking (adult drinks) months ago due to a fatty liver. No i don't have a drinking problem, my dr just said i needed to stop taking Advil, ibuprofen etc. stop drinking totally and he changed my diabetes medication.  my liver has improved!!  i know with all my health problems all the changes are for the best and are getting me closer to having my surgery.  im just ready NOW!  im starting to get very grumpy. no alcohol no carbs no sugar no sodas.......stopping all this in a very short time period is very hard. alot harder than i thought it would be.  sorry to drag this on and on but i just had to vent a little.  thank all of you guys on here for your support....it means the world!

I know what you mean. I too had to stop taking Advil and having the occasional drink due to fatty liver. I stopped the soda a few months ago, but today I have been craving it. Probably because my 2 week liquid diet starts tomorrow.
I am soo excited to get the surgery over with!! Jan. 12th can't get here soon enough!
Congrats to you and good luck!

10 days to go. I can't believe it.  My doctor doesn't require any type of pre-op diet, but I have decided that I am going to do slim fast 2 times a day and a regular meal at dinner.  They did tell me that the day before surgery was just clear liquids / yogurt.  I have gone a little crazy these past few days just kinda eating things that I probably should not, its almost like, well I am not going to be able to have this again for a real long time and once I eat some of it, I think to my self oh this is not something I am going to miss.  Its strange.  I can't wait for the surgery to be over with.  I am just  hoping for a semi quick recovery, I know that I need to take things slow, but just  hoping.  Trying to prepare.  They told me at pre-op that after day 6 I will start to drink Carnation Instant Breakfast Sugar Free 3 - 4 times a day, I am having a hard time finding sugar free. I found the ocean spray little powder drinks sugar free.  I just don't want to over buy, in case I don't like them after surgery.   Good luck to everyone.

Great job!  I can't imagine giving up everything at once!  I gave up soda about 5 months ago.  Adult bevs about 2 weeks ago but I did have a drink of Christmas.  How did you find out about your liver?  I wish I would have had some kind of test done.

Hang in there!  You are so close now!  I can't wait to hear how everything goes!!  I'll be thinking of you!

Since I have high blood pres, diabetes and sleep apnea to name a few, my new PC doctor stays on top of all my blood work.  I just started going to him in August when I decided to have WLS and he did blood test then and told me I have a fatty liver.  At first they thought I may have Crones disease or maybe colon cancer because I was aslo having tummy problems along with blood in my stool (i know TMI, sorry) so they did a colonoscopy.  Thank the good Lord everything was fine!!  So, my WLS was a go!!!!!  Your PC probably has done testing on you whi*****luded your liver but if it was normal he probably didn't mention it.  This is why this preop diet is so important to me and so hard!!!!!  Its suppose to shrink your liver. If he gets in there and its to large he may not be able to finish surgery.

have i said how much i love this forum??????????/ i do, i do!!!!!

You are right....you are not alone. We have all or going to be going through it. I gave up "adult" drinks 10 years ago and I gave up soda pop a year ago. It was difficult. I started my no carb diet today. Is it going to be hard? yes it is and since you have done it, I know I can. I also have to work on giving up caffiene. This is going to be harder than carbs for me because all I drink is green tea and regular tea. I don't drink water, but now I have to start. I am starting that today as well. It is going to be difficult. I will be praying for you and for me as well. Congrats on your progress so far.

My DH just asked me why I was eatng so much more than mormal.  I didn't know I was.  I am giving up  soda next week, which will be like giving up my right arm.  I am already working on caffeine.  It''s just a week away from my two week liquid diet.  I, too am just ready for this to be over with.  one of y on-line friends from another  forum is on a four week stall, another had to have three surgerys before she got to go home.  This is seroius stuff I am doing to my body.  I hope it is worth it.

Look on the bright side, at least you will have a lot of that out of your system NOW, and not have to struggle with it along with healing after surgery..

I hope it gets easier for you.. Keep up the good work.. It IS worth it..

Hugs,
Jenn

So I have to start weaning myself from soda and carbs this week and then 2 weeks out shakes a twicee a day and a lean cuisine type meal once a day. I am thinking of adding a week to the shake and one meal a day but I am not sure.I am ready to jump start this whole thing.I think the hardest will be tha whole no soda thing. Guess we all need to hang in there!
