I'm Getting Anxious

for January to get here so that our January forum members can start sharing their experiences with surgery and the early post-op days! It's neat that we'll all be going through the same things together!

I am anxious for January as well.

I go for my appt to start Medifast tomorrow morning. Have you ever heard of anyone being soooo excited to start a liquid diet???
My date of Jan. 12th will be here before I know it alon with all the other january peeps!

yeah its really close...im getting nervous and anxious and scared...i know everything will be alright i want to do my best and stick to the plan....just a few more days guys and its our time to shine :)

I'm getting pretty freaked myself!

My surgery will be a revision to DS which means....he has to go in there (as in OPEN surgery)  and fix everything, then start from scratch. Afterwards I'll be on tube feeding for a while as well to give things time to heal properly. I haven't told DH that part though-some things are better left unsaid. (He'll just worry that much more between now and then.)  If for some reason he can't do it, I'll be having a distal RNY-so there's a lot of unknowns for me. Who knows what I'll wake up to. (I'm trying to think positively though!)

At any rate, I am so very grateful for everyone here on OH-they have been so caring and helpful. I'd be flying blindfolded if there was no OH, that's for sure!

Hi Robin...My "switch sistah" I am also having an open revision to the DS. I have a huge incisional hernia from the original surgery 20 years ago so Lap surgery was out. I am also hoping I wake up switched. I also will get a feeding tube. my date is 1/29. Looking forward to comparing notes with you.

I am too..  My surgery is on the 6th, so ONE WEEK, and shortly after that I will tell all..

Can't wait to see how we all do..

Hey Jenn, We will all do great!!!  2009...its my (our) Time!!!We are allowing our bodies to be changed surgically. This is drastic!! But necessary! If we could do this any other way I am sure we all would. So now we have an answer that if we do as we are told will work. I have been fat all my life! My obesity has impacted every thing and everyone in my life. Most of it has been negative. I am tired....How about you. I envy you young girls and I applaud you. I tried 20 years ago but the technology just wasn't there yet. I am grateful that I have lived and get a second chance. Am I scared? You better know it~! 20 years ago i was jus fat and wanted to be thin. Now i got some thangs that have hitched a ride along the way. You all may know them...hypertension...pre-diabetic-sleep apnea...raging joint pain...edema....you get the picture.But know this.......courage is action in the face of fear!  How bad do we want it? "It" is whatever you feel will be different after you have sucessfully lost this cumbersome weight. For me it is finally looking in a mirror and smiling because I like what I see back, Its walking about a half a block without sounding like I smoke 10 packs a day, not having to cringe when a waitress takes us to a booth instead of a table, wondering when that diabetic curse in my family is gonna rear its ugly head and maybe finally having a relationship with a man and knowing HE is the "lucky one". Soooooooooo all my january leaders lets show OH how its done!!!
