aww you sound like me...i never had surgery either and your sugery is the day after mines...i guess its normal to be nervous...everyone has been nervous.... if you want to know what to expect check out the december board or wither the lap band board. you will find more people there who have had it done.... im sure everything will go fine...i dont know too much about the lap band just the fact that you lose weight slower than with the other WLS but your recovery and pain isnt as bad :)  sorry i cant help more

congrats on your date and making the decision to change your life. You will be so glad that you did. I have had 9 surgeries and have never had trouble with anesthesia. Don't sweat it. I am sure you will do fine. I will say prayers for you.

Hello and Welcome to the January board. I think we are all somewhat nervous. Even though we do our research it's still different for every person. We kind of know what to expect but to what degree we can't say. Before to long we will not be newbies anymore and we will have our own advice for others. I don't think there's anything we can really do about the nervousness but just hope and pray that we wake up to be LOSERS! LOL Best wishes on your journey and I'll be praying for you.

I'm on Jan 7th too!  I'm also doing the lap band.  I'm the opposite, I feel like time is moving so slow.  I'm ready for this to happen.  I've had plenty of surgeries so that part doesn't really scare me.  It's the afterwards part.  Can I do this?  What if I can't lose weight even with the band?  Should I have done the RNY?  As of Dec. 31st I don't have a job and after the end of Jan. I won't have ins.  So what if I can't afford to get my fills?  I'm having the "what if" break down!!  I think the actual surgery is the easy part.  Its what follows thats gonna be the tuffy.  Thank goodness for this forum.  Without it I would be a basket case!!!!!!!!
