I am nervous and not only that I am seeing that most people on this sight has some kind of diet before the surgery. My dr has not said anything about a pre op diet at all...should I be worried?

All doctors seem to vary about pre op diets. If you weren't given one to follow then don't worry about it. You will do fine.

My surgery is Jan 6 and my doctor's literature says he requires this but he has not asked me personally to do this.  I have a preop visit on 12/29 - we'll see if he wants me to start then.  I think it may be related to my current weight - 240 so I qualify for 100 lbs to lose, but not much more.

dont be worried you will be fine...if he didnt say anything about a diet then dont worry but if you have the will power its always good to do one right before surgery because just by losing 10 pounds before surgery you shrink your liver which makes the operation go smoother...and also it helps dicsipline you before the actual surgery so you can stick to the plan afterwards....

oh and congrats on getting a date..it will be here in no time!!
