I am not really having trouble sleeping yet, but every waking moment surgery looms in the back of my mind.   Very excited and nervous.  Anyone have any good techniqes for chilling out?  I am thankful the holidays should keep me busy.  Merry Christmas to all -

Best wishes Charlie and no I don't have any ideas on how to calm down. I'm counting the days  myself. I hope with the holidays it will help take the edge of nerves off.

Hi Charlie,

I am also having my surgery Jan. 2nd. I am getting the lapband done however.  I am really trying not to think about it because it is coming up so fast isn't it?  I made the decision a long time ago that what is meant to be will be and so I put my trust in my surgeon and in God's hands.  You pretty much can not help but be nervous but if you can accept it and think positively then it may make it easier.  And if not, they can give you some good relaxation drugs before the surgery to help take the edge off.  :)  Good luck and you'll be in my prayers.

Same to you Kim!  I have found that prayer/meditation does help.  thank for your support - Best wishes to you also!!  I have been doing a lot of deep breathing and such, it helps.  Plus staying busy with the holidays helps too.

best of luck.. you will do great !!  I am scheduled for Jan 7th and I can totalled understand what you are going thru.  My husband doesn't want
to talk about it, he thinks I am a little crazy for doing this (RNY).  But I need to do it for me.  I have actually tur ned to my treadmill or walking, it actually works and I figure I need to be walking after surgery so I might as well start now.  I also come here to OH and that helps or just playing with my 4 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son, they can keep my really busy.  My co-workers also are supportive.  we will all do great....  hope this helps you... and good luck and have a very merry christmas..and a great new year.  We are all starting off the new year great.
